Home reading minutes and books read will be recorded daily on a reading log that will be checked at mid-trimester

and turned in at the end of the trimester.

Reading and Response

 One reading response is required each trimester on one of the many books read at home and during SSR. The specific response, reading genre, and the due date will be assigned at the beginning of the trimester. The purpose of the academic grade is to report the level of mastery learning in relation to the curricular objectives. This grade is based on: o Assignments=40% & Assessments =60% Grading Scale: o 100% - 93% = A 79% -77% = C+ o 92% - 90% = A76% - 73% = C o 89% - 87% = B+ 72% - 70% = Co 86% - 83% = B 69% - 0% = I o 82% - 80% = BA = Substantial Mastery * B = Proficiency C = Basic Proficiency * I = Standard Not Met

Effort Grading Scale

The effort grade reflects the behavior and responsibility students demonstrate in class. A website is maintained for this class which includes upcoming events and assignments. It may also include pictures of students as they participate in class. Student names will not be listed with the pictures.
