Professor: Kore kara hajimemasho. (Let us begin now.) Professor: Jana-san, tatte kudasai. (Jana, please stand.) Professor: Please say 17 in Japanese. Jana: Ju nana. (17.) Professor: Correct, Jana. Caloy-san, tatte kudasai. (Caloy, please stand.) What is the highest monetary in Japan? Carlos: Ichiman. (10,000 yen) Professor: Very good. Kiah-san, tatte kudasai. (Kiah, please stand.) Part 2: At the Restaurant Kriz: Nodo ga kawakimashita ne. (Arent you thirsty?) Jana: Sou desu ne. Nani ka nomimashou. (Yes I am. Shall we get something to drink.) Kiah: Hai, ano resutoran wa dou desu ka. (Yes. How about that restaurant?) Carlos: Ii desu ne. Harimashou. (Thats fine. Lets go in.) Waitress(Karen): Irasshaimase. Nanmei sama desu ka. (Welcome! How many people?) Jana: Yon-nin desu. (Four people.) Waitress: Douzo kochira e. (This way please.) Carlos: Menyuu onegaishimasu. (Can I have a menu?) Waitress: Hai, shou shou omachi kudasai. (Yes, please wait a moment.) Waitress: Hai, douzo. (Here you are.) Carlos: Doumo. (Thanks.) Kiah: Nani ga ii desshou ne. (I wonder whats good.) Jana: Piza to pasuta. (Pizza and pasta) Kriz: Sushi to tempura mo. (Sushi and tempura also) Waitress: Go-chuumon wa okimari desu ka? (Have you decided?) Kriz: Sushi o hitotsu to tempura o hitotsu kudasai. (One sushi and one tempura please.) Jana: Sorekara mo piza o hitotsu to pasuta o hitotsu kudasai. (Also, one pizza and one pasta please.) Waitress: Sushi ga hitotsu, tempura ga hitotsu, pizza ga hitotsu, pasuta ga hitotsu desu ne. (One sushi, one tempura, one pizza and one pasta, isnt it? Group: Hai. (Yes.) Waitress: O-nomimono wa ikaga desu ka. ( Would you like anything to drink?) Kiah: Soda kudasai. (Soda please.) Waitress: Hoka ni nani ka. (Anything else?) Carlos: Iie, kekkou desu. (No thanks.)

Part 3: At the Hotel Kiah: There is a hotel! Why dont we spend the night there? It seems the rain wont stop tonight. Jana: We better get to that hotel right away. Or else we will get sick. Kriz: We can use their telephone there also. Carlos: Lets hurry! The rain is becoming heavier! Attendant(Karen): Konbanwa. Ame wa totemo omoi desu ne. (Good evening. The rain is so heavy.) Jana: Hai. Sou desu. Heya ga arimasu ka. (Yes it is. Do you have any vacant rooms?) Attendant: Heya o totte oki-mashita ka. (Have you reserved a room?) Kiah: Iie. (No.) Carlos: Heya wa mina fusagette imasu ka. (Are all the rooms occupied?) Attendant: Watashi ga chekku shite mimashou. (Let me check.) Attendant: Sumimasen, subete no o heya wa senryo sa rete imasu. (Sorry, all of our rooms are occupied.) Kriz: Hokano yado o sewashite kudasai. (Can you recommend another hotel?) Attendant: Wareware wa, magindanao-sh de motte iru. (We have another in Maguindanao.) Kiah: Sou desu ka. Doomo arigatou gozaimasu. (Is that so? Thank you very much.) Jana: Ikimashou ka. Ame ga teishi. (Shall we go? The rain stopped.) Carlos: Sou desu. Ikimashou. (Right. Lets go.)
