Dear Parent/Carer, A warm welcome back to all students as we start yet another year at Fulham Cross Girls School. I am looking forward to another fantastic and busy year. I am delighted to tell you that our examination results improved again this year with 96% of students gaining 5 + A* - C grades and 73% achieving 5 + A* - C, including English and Maths. This is a testament to the hard work of the students and staff who have all contributed to this wonderful achievement. We are currently busy preparing for open events and I have attached a copy of the flyer. Please pass this on to any parents you know who have a daughter and encourage them to visit our wonderful school. Thank you for ensuring your daughters/wards have returned to school in correct uniform and with a lock for their brand new lockers, we really do appreciate your support. Unfortunately we have already received a number of complaints from local residents about the use of Strode Road as the main entrance for the school and the impact of parents driving into and parking, and double parking in Strode Road at the beginning and end of the day. In addition we have serious concerns about the Health and Safety of your daughter/ward with such a high level of congestion at the beginning and end of the school day. Today the school has been informed by the National Grid that they are replacing the gas main in Munster Road. This means that they will be installing a three way traffic light system which will operate between the roundabout at Dawes Rd and the roundabout at Lillie Road - thereby affecting both of the school entrances. This will cause wide spread traffic chaos and congestion around the school for the next four weeks. I therefore suggest that you do not use Strode Road AT ALL with a vehicle and you arrange to meet your daughter/ward in an alternative place close to school. If students use the buses to travel to school they need to leave earlier to ensure they arrive at school on time. I trust that I can rely on your support in this matter. Yours sincerely Denise Fox Head of School
