Classroom News
Thank you so much for such a wonderful year so far. I am very pleased at how well your children have progressed through the year. This year has been full of fun activities and field trips and next year will be too. This newsletter will let you know what will be going on in our in December and a few reminders of what is to come after Winter Break. If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to ask!

Christmas Party
On Friday, December 14that 1:00 p.m., we will have our class Christmas Party! We will have fun Christmas goodies to snack on and a Golden Ticket scavenger hunt. The winning student will get to be the Teachers Assistant during our next field trip! Please remember that this is not a gift giving party and that any gifts for friends should be exchanged outside of class.

Polar Express Day

We will be having a Polar Express day on Friday, December 14th, the same day as our Christmas Party. We will begin the day by reading the book Polar Express by Chris van Allsburg and watching the Polar Express movie. We will then have our Christmas Party. Students are also allowed to wear their pajamas for this day so please remember that pajamas should be modest and appropriate. Polar Express day will be a fun day to show our Christmas spirit and also come to school with a smile on your face and ready to have fun!

Letters to Santa
This week, we will put our writing skills to practice by writing letters to Santa. In these letters we will use our Vocabulary words that we have learned in the past few weeks. We will then put these letters up on our classs bulletin board in the Kindergarten hall. If you have time, come by and see your childs letter! The last week before Christmas break, we will take our class letters and send them off for Santa to read, just in time for Christmas!

In-Class Field Trip

Next week, on Friday, December 14th, we will have an in-class field trip where we will have 5 Special guests come to class to talk to our class! We will learn about the many important jobs that there are around our city and the special people who perform those jobs! Your children will come home with many stories to be told!

Our December birthdays lunch will be on the 11th! Our special birthday boy and girls will be allowed to have a special friend sit with them at the birthday table for lunch! We will also have cupcakes at lunch for everyone in our class!

Spring Sports Sign-Ups

In January, the forms for our spring sports teams will be due by the 7th. Please have the forms completely filled out and placed in your childs Homework Folder. The teams that we have available this season are baseball for boys and Cheerleading and softball for the girls. If we do not have enough students for both a softball and baseball team, we will then have a coed team for both boys and girls! Please remember your forms because you dont want your child missing out on all the fun!

MATH MANIA
Our class has made tremendous progress with our Math lessons. Here is extra Math help that your child can use over break so that we can start where we left off before Winter Break. 1.) What number goes in the blank? 10, 11, ___, 13, 14 ___,4,5,6,7 20,21,22,23,____ 2.) When you count by 2s, what number comes next? 2, 4, 6, ____ 1, 3, 5,7, ____ 6, 8, ____ 3.) Count by 2s! How many Christmas trees are there?
