Meeting convened with opening prayer by Michele. StrengthFinder assessment: Identifies ones strengths, never on weaknesses Balance ones weaknesses by pairing up with other peoples strengths. Joan is a certified coach of StrengthFinder Offering the PAB a 1-hr class on StrengthFinder All information is confidential Only requirement is to share top 5 strengths Individual coaching, when Joans schedule permits Hope is to expand these concepts to the entire parish, using StrengthFinder as a common vocabulary Proposed plan is a 2-fold approach 1. Town-hall meeting: Oct 9th, 2-4PM Serra Center a. Co-sponsor with Finance Council i. Current financial state of parish ii. Allen may do a month in life in the parish b. Fr. Chuck may do spiritual state of the parish 2. QLM follow-up: Nov 19th a. location dining room & chapel, unless changed

Subcommittee members: Lee, Tavale, Arturo Develop strategies for people who do not speak in public o Eg. On-line survey, phone# for people to leave messages, written surveys, facebook, etc All PAB members encouraged to submit their ideas to the subcommittee welcomed to join the subcommittee

Meeting Date: Thursday, August 4, 2011 Subcommittee on use of Casa de Amparo Place: Parish Center, Rm# 1 Time: 7PM Subcommittee still needs to formally meet. Short discussion on general ideas regarding education and rental possibilities. Mai arranged a preview tour for herself & 2 guests with Allens help. Event successful on 2 fronts: Raising funds & bringing community together Almost $6000 raised (gross) Amount given to parish $5200+ (net) Expenses included $100 donation to SLRP Youth, overall food service costs, & celebratory breakfast for organizing committee after the event. Tentative date for next year: July 20, 2012 No Discussion: Wanda King, principal of OMMS, e-mailed the board earlier that no OMMS liaison would attend todays meeting. The event was a success and will be repeated every month. Next event is at the Serra Center, Sunday, August 14th Praise & Worship at 4PM Mass at 5PM Movie at sunset with free food & beverages Offertory Stewardship Allen Starting last week before collection a prayer said to raise level of awareness of the lowly collection (Soft approach) New tools to promote: QPay and EFT Finance Council & Parish Staff still feeling what is best way (soft vs. hard approach) to increase offertory. Sign-ups for picture-taking is currently underway with Ray Werner as coordinator Father Chuck recorded 4 messages for robo-call to all parishioners encouraging participation. Photo shoots will be at McKeon Center: Rm 13 Subcommittee members: Allen, Mai, Sel, Lee Allen will call a subcommittee meeting & tour of Casa facility at a future date

All PAB members are encouraged to attend the next Youth Mass events

All PAB members are encouraged to put their envelopes into the offertory basket, even if you participate via EFT. Eg. Pastoral staff are modeling this by putting their envelopes in the basket.

Chuck requested the chairmanship of future PAB meetings to rotate so that every PAB member has leadership experience for the Parish. Fr Chucks suggestion to Sel (the PAB secretary) Minutes do not have to be a detailed transcriptions Short descriptions of discussion points & decisions are fine Suggestion to clarify a section of the bylaws was discussed Reminder that the event will be held on August 26, 2011 at the Old Mission Closing prayer by Cesar Adjournment of the meeting Lee volunteered to chair the next PAB meeting on Sept 1, 2011 Every new PAB chair will communicate their agenda to the PAB secretary (Sel), who will communicate to the rest of the board FYI, Sel will: 1. Endeavor to submit Minutes to the board by the 2nd week of the month, following a PAB meeting. 2. All audio recordings of the PAB meetings are immediately DELETED once the Minutes have been compiled. Mai will consider submitting a change in text in the Bylaws. PAB will vote on that change of text at the next meeting All PAB members are encouraged to attend the processional event for our patron saint Next PAB meeting on September 1, 2011
