This is with reference to new hybrid rice selection for commercialization in coming kharif
(09-10) season. We reached to a consensus about the set of new hybrid rice to be
introduced in North zone (except Punjab & Haryana) and central zone. There was detail
deliberation over the report of hybrid rice evaluation team sent to UP, Bihar, Jharkhand
and Chattisgarh before the management at head office.
It has been decided to introduce 3585, 7053, 7042 & 7434 in north-eastern market and
central zone for trial marketing. Out of all these products, we will have sizable quantities
of 3585 seeds available for marketing in coming kharif.
This year it has been decided to build our base carefully by making judicious use of sold
quantities for promotion to bring about more awareness about our products among the
farmer's. Following table depicts state wise plan for aforesaid products in coming kharif
season –

We will be forwarding two excellent new hybrids ARRH 7 & ARRH 10 selected from this
year’s MLRT to LST, which will be carried out across all important hybrid tracts along with
above selected hybrids.
We will have to do systematic & advance planning for conducting LST in coming kharif
(09-10) season. We can think on the line of finalizing market, villages, farmers and plot
beforehand in consultation with farmers to conduct LST. Besides, it will be great if we can
put one set of LST material at one place or in one village. It will minimize the effect of
variable factors viz; cultural practice and input management. All these effort will help us
in getting more relevant information about the performance of hybrids and will enable us
in identifying most suitable and competitive hybrids.
