March 19, 2012 Love in Action

Dear Parents,
Our introductions to our blogging buddies are finished. I still have a lot to learn about making a movie, but at least our buddies will know a little about our class and school. Please take a look at it. http://vimeo.com/ 38679109 Technology Tidbits will be on Wednesday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. We will be watching some short clips about safety and discussing how you can help to keep your child safe. Students will bring home their portfolio on Tuesday. Please take time to look through it with your child and discuss their progress and goals. Return the portfolio by Friday, March 23. Bible - New Bible memory verse is due on Friday, March 23. We will discuss Christs crucifixion and resurrection. The students will be working in groups to present the story of Jesus last week on Friday this week. Language arts - We will enjoy some read-alouds with a spring theme this week as we continue to review strategies for reading. Im conferring with the students and helping them decide if they want to change the area (comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expand vocabulary) that they are focusing on. We are continuing to work on learning the cursive lower case letters. We will also continue looking at the 6+Traits: Ideas, Organization, Sentence Fluency, Voice, Word Choice, Conventions and Sharing. Mathematics - The students made fabulous fraction posters that are hanging in the hallway. Please stop by to see them. We will finish our work with probability and begin looking at place value and decimals.

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20
