    February 22, 2012 Love in Action

    Dear Parents,
    Technology Tidbits will be Wednesday, February 22 at 3 pm in Matsukawa Place. Well look at safety and some of the websites CAJ is using. Please join us. Im looking for some parents to help in the classroom on Wednesday, February 29 from 10:00 - noon. I would like to bake pizza with the students. Please email me, jhino@caj.or.jp , if you are able to help. We have received a video introduction from a class in Canada. After we send them a video response, Mrs. Watson (the Canadian teacher) and I are planning on a Skype date between the classes. Due to the time difference, this may take place before school for any students willing and able to come. More information to come. Bible - The students can say Matthew 13:8, 23 this week. Next week well begin a new verse. We are continuing with our parables. Have you asked your child to retell any? Language arts - Didn't the students do a great job in the plays? We were happy that so many of you could join us. This week we will be taking some time to reflect on how the performances went. The students will think about what they did well and what they want to do better next time. Since we spent a lot of time practicing during the past few weeks, we will work hard on refocusing on reading and writing strategies and how to use time effectively during Daily Five. Back to the Goldilocks stories. Many of the students are waiting for time with the teacher to edit their story. Mathematics - We will continue to practice for World Maths Day and work on fractions. Students will be bringing home a booklet about fractions. Be sure to read through it with your child.
