Dear Parents,
Thank you to Mrs. Higuchi, Mrs. Hirose, Mrs. Kinoshita, Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Sussman for helping with making pizza last week. The students had a great time. Be sure to check out the video and photos on the class blog. This week is World Spelling Day (March 6), World Math Day (March 7) and World Science Day (March 8). We will be going to the computer lab on March 6 and 7. The students have been very enthusiastic about the spelling and math practice. I will be attending the JEMA Ladies Retreat on Thursday and Friday this week. Please contact Mrs. Wordell if you have any questions. Bible - We will begin our unit on Jesus last week on earth. The students will be making a project that they can use to retell the story of Jesus death and resurrection. They will also be making a booklet and at the end of the unit will work as a group to retell the story. Each student needs to bring an empty egg carton that will hold 10 eggs. (NO EGGS NECESSARY) Language arts - We are reviewing the various reading strategies and trying to use our time well as we read and write during Daily Five time. The children have been enjoying the TumbleBooks website. We enjoyed some Dr. Seuss read-alouds last week and will do a few more this week. Mathematics - This is World Math Day week! We will continue with fractions.
