Self Employed Business Coach The primary goal of a business coach is to build a sustainable relationship with a client in order

to enhance their ability to start, maintain and grow their business. Client Group Long term unemployed clients who are currently on the Work Programme. This is a mandatory programme for clients who are 12 months or more unemployed. The Role To facilitate the start-up and development of successful small and medium sized businesses by advising and supporting existing or potential entrepreneurs. Coaching activities are undertaken on a fortnightly basis with the client through a range of various channels. Face to face meetings, (one to one or group) telephone discussions and email exchanges. Coaches are required to: Develop an on-going relationship, providing advice, information and other relevant support to enable the client to become self employed. Encourage the client to express and discuss their business idea, and understand the concerns and barriers that they may have. Motivate and develop a can do attitude. Undertake a fortnightly review of the clients progress and set realistic and practical targets to enable them to realise their goal of becoming self employed. Refer/signpost clients to other sources of information, advice or further support as and when required. Encourage clients to take responsibility for their own decisions, plans and actions. Keep up to date and accurate records and understand the importance of feeding back information. Skills Excellent communication skills to include active listening and presentation skills. Effective time management Relationship building and networking Strong motivation skills Maintaining records and written reports. Excellent interpersonal skills to include influencing and negotiation. Flexible approach to work. Be able to work with challenging client group.
