The Cardigans

MY FAVOURITE GAME

Establishing Shot
This shot is used to establish the location of the video which is clearly a desert. A desert holds connotations of isolation and roughness which is used to reflect the main singer but also the band, fulfilling its rough genre of rock.

Close ups
This close up of the dial is used to indicate danger and destruction which targets a specific audience (mainly teenagers and males) to buy the product.

Point of View
This point of view shot is used to attract an audience because it includes them in the video, as if the video is a simulation because the audience will feel a sense of danger and urgency.

Appearance
The main singer has tattoos and is dressed in black. This helps to conform the genre of rock and she is introduced like a rock chick.

Car

The birds eye shot of the car is used to present the car to the audience. The car is battered and therefore looks cool because it is feeding into the alternative image that the band are trying to create to sell the product.

Low Angle Shots

The low angle shots of the lead singer sell her to the audience as the lead singer of the band and therefore get the audience to buy the bands song.

Slow motion
Slow motion is used when the lead singer throws the bear out the car. This feeds into the narrative approach of the video and helps to tell the story because the woman is destructive and dangerous.
