NV Community Arts Council presents
2012 BC Country Music Awards nomi-
nees Carlie & Julie Kennedy, at the Civic
Centre, 7:30pm.
With Carli on vocals and guitar and
Julie on vocals and violin, they have de-
veloped a sound that is all their own: a
fusion of their background in country,
folk, jazz, and Celtic music. They are
known for their exceptional harmonies,
fine musicality, and sincere songwriting
style. Besides performances at festivals &
on CVC, they also have over 15 Nashville
performances to their credit.
Tickets are available at Blacks, the
Baillie House & at the door; $22 for
adults, $17 for seniors and students.
Close call
On February 10, at approximately
12:30am, Merritt RCMP stopped a vehi-
cle on Garcia St after it had pulled out of
a parking position cutting off the police
car. The police car had to take evasive ac-
tion in order to avoid a collision.
The driver of the vehicle, a 38 year old
woman from Williams Lake, was found
to have been drinking and her ability to
operate a motor vehicle was impaired by
alcohol. She provided two breath samples
and failed both. She was subsequently
prohibited from driving for 90 days and
her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
