New Delhi November 17th, 2011 Dear Parent, It is with immense pain and agony that I have spent

the last few weeks of my time as the custodian of Brilliant Tutorials, one of the holiest institutions in India for almost four decades. I am also dead-sure that you, as a parent, must have been terribly disturbed and agitated due to the disruption of our services to your child. Our challenges were manifold - internal as well as external. We have spent sleepless nights to fight out of this situation. Even as I come back to you with some good news today, I would like to express my gratitude to all my team members in the locations where BT is present as well as here in Chennai who have stood by us in this hour of crisis. Some looking back and the current crisis: Brilliant Tutorials was founded by my Father-in-Law and nurtured into one of the most respected brands by Neelakantan (my husband). Brilliant has seen and enabled more than 30,000 youngsters realize their IIT dreams across generations. There isnt an institution that has done more for the engineering aspirant in India. We hold Brilliant Tutorials as an institution in our heart and minds and would not let anything happen that harms the goodwill of the organization. One of the challenges that I have faced since the passing away of Neelakantan (my husband) has been to be able to manage the business in diverse geographies across the country. A few trusted and senior members not playing fair to enhance the glory of the institution made matters worse for me. Tie-up with CL Educate: One of the guiding principles that I have used in consultation with the members of the BT family is to ensure that we create a solution that is likely to last more than a few seasons. We went about searching for a partner who would help us not only get back quickly to the delivery of classes for the current students but also one that has the ability to nurture the future generations of young aspirants just as Brilliant has done in the past. I am happy to announce our institutional tie-up with CL Educate (formerly Career Launcher). CL and Brilliant Tutorials come together on a common platform to continue our services here onwards. We would have the combined teams of faculty led by the academic practices of Brilliant Tutorials, student services, CL / BT centers at our disposal to manage the day-to-day affairs of our business. As you are aware, Career Launcher is also one of the most trusted organizations in the education space. CL Educate is founded and run by a group of IIT IIM alumni with activities ranging from test prep, vocational training, K12-schools and higher education. We also have put together a joint working committee at the highest level to guide the organization into the future. The committee includes Geeta Ravishankar (Founder-Director, New Concept Information System and daughter of Founder, Brilliant Tutorials), Satya Narayanan R (Founder Chairman, CL Educate), Gautam Puri (Co-founder and Vice Chairman, CL Educate) and myself. I also deem it important to state clearly that Brilliant Tutorials continues to be owned and managed by the same management that has been at the helm of affairs for the past four decades. This arrangement does not include any change in the ownership aspects of the organization. Together with CL, we keenly look forward to commencing our services this weekend itself. Please await a batch/location specific intimation for your child in a subsequent communication shortly. For any query that you would want us to address that might be specific to you or your child, please feel free to send a mail to bt-cl@brilliant-tutorials.com if you do not receive any clear information by Monday (21st Nov 2011).
