Not pursued further due to availability of better three phase technology and obsolescence of thryristorised technology

Indigenisation of Loco Equipments :75 % Import substitution Up-gradation of Software Design and development of Speed Sensors for better Slip Slide Control Measures to improve the Reliability of Traction Motors Design and development of High Torque Traction motors : Max Torque- 10,300 Nm in place of existing 9200 Nm to haul 5200 t loads at 1: 150 gradient

Requirement to increase Average speed of freight trains High Horse power ,energy efficient,individual axle control, high adhesion freight locos for Higher Through put and optimisation of line Capacity . High Speed ,energy efficient, individual axle control passenger locos for 225 kmph /300 kmph
