Submission Description (no more than 50 words in length) Technology Coordinators, it is easy to create custom training snippets of SC specific and district level procedures much like Pearsons 5-minute Mastery in Minutes training snippets! Jing, a free tool from TechSmith, records up to 5-minute videos of screen content and narration for publication. This easy to use and effective tool can support district/school level data quality efforts by providing a visual means of relaying timely data entry instruction. Video reminders of data validation, error correction guidelines, reinforcement of student data entry processes, and elaboration on responsibilities can be created within a matter of minutes. End users will enjoy viewing video processes as a supplement to written tech notes. This description will be used in the conference program book and will assist participants in their selection of sessions. Expanded Submission Description (no more than 500 words in length) Technology Coordinators know how important it is to provide additional support and training prompts around SCDOE data collection periods. School and district employees spend a great deal of time validating PowerSchool student and course level data against the SCDE requirements.

Processes related to student attendance, grading, scheduling etc. demand the continued reiteration of data entry standards and instruction. Jing, a free tool from TechSmith, can be used to aid technology coordinators in the creation of training snippets for SC specific and district level procedure - much like Pearsons 5 minute Mastery in Minutes training snippets. As an accompaniment to standard text-based communications, Jing records up to 5-minute snips of screen content and narration for publication. This easy to use tool can be used to support district and school level data quality initiatives by providing a simple and effective means for relaying timely data entry instruction. Each year, districts have significant turnover in data entry positions. Jing videos can be used to provide training and support for new clerks in the areas of reminders for QDC specific data validation, error correction guidelines, reinforcement of student data entry processes, and elaboration on responsibilities.
