If you master history, you might aspire to e a politician like Bismarck one day. !istory is the story of successes and failures of peoples, nations and statesmen, all of "hich interact to gi#e us an episode in human e$istence. It is not a out tracing e#ents and memori%ing them. That "ould e a #ery limited and oring #ision of "hat history should e. !istory must e appreciated, e#ents properly linked and its logic understood. I ha#e taken into consideration t"o aspects, first that this is an introductory course so I chose adequate distri ution of reading material especially for the first fe" and last "eeks. &econd, that this is a political'history course, so I am trying to fuse the t"o disciplines.
