All Glory Belongs to God! All of the hard work and efforts extended paid off.
It was a long journey when we joined the Regional Intel Teach School Awards 2011(RITSA). The contest ran for six months and we underwent three rounds. We received the communication last May 11, 2011 and submitted the written report last June 10, 2011.That was the first round. Among the several participating schools in the country were Caraga Regional Science High School of Surigao City Division and the Congressional National High School of Cavite City. Second round was a telephonic interview wherein two judges from India and Singapore asked three questions. The first question stressed on the impact of ICT Integration in the curriculum; the second question was about the professional development, and the third question focused on the strengths of the school leading to the success of ICT Integration. Out of the ten countries shortlisted from the participants of the Southeast Asian Region, Caraga Regional Science High

School made it to the third and final round which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia last December 5-7, 2011. Third round was a face to face interview with three judges from UNESCO Thailand, Australia, and Korea. Matilde J. Manliguis, Principal IV of Caraga Regional Science High School had proven that not only students and teachers but the school administrator could as well excel in any endeavor even in the international competition. The principal, being the presenter, won the Silver Award of Excellence. The Award consists of a technology grant of USD3,000 as a token of appreciation of the schools exemplary work in ICT integration. With these conditions in mind, the school decided to purchase the following equipment: one (1) laptop, two (2) netbooks and one (1) lcd projector. Joining RITSA contest entails a lot of hard work. It was not an easy task indeed. We almost gave up when we encountered problems in uploading big files. But with our strong determination and conviction to win the contest in order to promote our school, we poured out our expertise and resources as best as we could. With all the support and inspiration from all our colleagues, everything was made possible and concretize for we made it to the top. To God be the glory!
