I. Introduction

Project Title: Free Internet Access for Students of Dulag National High School

The Internet is a vast network of internationally interconnected computer

networks that, in a sense, unite to form a network that may be utilized to access
information over the internet (Agarwal, 2020). It is the largest global information
network, and students at all levels of economic development and social development
can benefit from it (2021, “Internet Importance to Students.”) Students acquire a
variety of additional latest information to fulfill homework assigned by teachers by
browsing the Internet. Undoubtedly, one of the ways that the Internet helps students is
by making knowledge more accessible to them.

Nowadays, students are given projects that require some research work.
Since not every campus has every book needed for the course, students find it more
convenient and straightforward to conduct a thorough internet search to learn more
about various topics and find the pertinent and accurate information (Agarwal, 2020).

Lack of wi-fi connectivity can cause students to become out-of-date, miss

important information, and be unable to conduct the necessary research for their
projects, which will cause them to fail. Dulag National High School requires students
to complete several school assignments and conduct extensive study on a variety of
subjects in order to develop their knowledge and understand the subjects in question.
Many students, especially those without sufficient funding for internet, benefit from the
availability of wi-fi.

Due to the financial strain that data load places on students and the poor
internet connection at Dulag National High School, the project's organizers have given
free internet access careful thought. The project concept for "Free Internet Access for
Students of Dulag National High School" is therefore outlined below.

Funding Agency

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST; Kagawaran ng Agham

at Teknolohiya) of the Philippines is the executive branch of the Philippine
Government in charge of coordinating projects in the fields of science and technology
in the country as well as developing policies and projects in these areas to aid in the
development of the country. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of
Palo is one of the agencies with which we intend to collaborate on this project. The
local office is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective supply of internet
connectivity services. The group is also in charge of coming up with and putting into
action ideas and methods to deal with the students' lack of internet access, which is in
line with the core goal of the proposal. Aside from being easily accessible locally, as
their office is situated in Brgy. Candahug, 6501 Leyte, the organization can help
students with the planning and execution of this project.

Reasons to Fund Project

The wi-fi internet access project is organized to achieve specific results that
will benefit those involved by the initiative, thus, project’s feasibility is articulated
through the following results:

1. Help students who do not have enough money to pay for online access or data
load to their mobile phones, as well as those who have a lazy internet.
2. Students will have easy access to the most recent information and be able to carry
out thorough research on their subjects.

II. Rationale or Background

Knowledge Gap

Students occasionally turn in schoolwork like essays and quizzes online.

They will be given essays that must be submitted by a specified deadline and be
required to complete online quizzes on particular days. All of this only results in
paper and financial savings for scantrons and other supplies. As you can see, Wi-Fi
is important in schools and will only have more of an impact on both students and
instructors in the future (Malcom, 2018). The Philippine government, has been
steadily implementing the Free Wi-Fi for All Program countrywide, with a focus on
geographically remote and underserved areas, to fulfill the expanding demands of
the digital economy (GIDAs) (freepublicwifi.govph, 2021). However, Dulag National
High School has not yet invested to a project similar to this.

Problems to be Solved

The problems intended to be solved by this proposal are as follows:

1. Improved Wi-Fi connectivity of the school.

2. Reduced students financial stress.
3. Increased likelihood of students submitting their schoolwork on time.

Project Significance

Upon the successful implementation of this project, the following illustrates

the potential results:

1. Students will have less financial stress and more ease in completing their
schoolwork.
2. Students will be able to pass their schoolwork on time.
3. Through the free internet connection, students will be able to understand their
lessons outside of the textbooks because they will be able to quickly search for
topics and concepts.

III. Project and Description

Goals and Objectives

The project proposal aims to accomplish the following objectives:

1. Assist students who are struggling financially by implementing the free

internet access.
2. Reduce the cost and time of submitting students' homework or research
papers.
Methodology

To inform the students of the procedures to be followed when the plan is put
into action, a thorough conversation with the school's senior administrators will need
to take place before the project is implemented. In order for the Department of
Science and Technology to decide whether to stop funding, it should also be tested
for a year and a report should be made to assess whether the objectives are being
met.
