SCHEME OF THE LESSON DEVELOPMENT Introductory part: (app. 10 minutes)


Teacher greets students and writes the lesson into the class book. Teacher explains to students that they are going to play a class game in order to revise vocabulary learnt so far. Teacher gives detailed explanation for playing the game and plays it with students. Teacher invites two students to present themselves to the rest of the class, using learnt language structures. Teacher invites two students to describe themselves to the rest of the class, as well as to describe each other, using learnt structures and verb have got.

Main part: (app. 25 minutes)


Teacher encourages students to count from 1-20 in chorus. Teacher draws a box with a spider sitting on top and invites students to tell where the spider is. Teacher rubs out the spider and draws it under the box and repeats the question in order to elicit correct answer. Teacher asks students to open their books on p 29 and look at the picture of Aladdin and the genie at the top of the page. Teacher asks two students to read the speech bubble aloud and asks the rest of the class to look for a pink box, point to it and repeat the sentence. (Its under the table.) Teacher asks students to do exercise 7, e.g. to listen to a recording, look and say right or wrong. Teacher plays the recording 43 for students to do their task. Teacher asks the class to look at the row of coloured boxes given in exercise 8. Teacher asks students to point at each box in turn and say the correct colour. Teacher invites students to look at the big cutaway picture of the palace given in exercise 8. Teacher asks questions related to the picture inviting different students to give their answers in order to revise learnt words as well as prepositions. Teacher divides the class into pairs and tells to students to take turns and ask and answer questions related to the picture.

Final part: (app. 10 minutes)


Teacher shows to students a selection of coloured pencils and puts them round the classroom in places that students will be able to describe. (Its....on the table, in the cupboard, etc.) Teacher explains to students that they are going to play a class game in order to consolidate the use of learnt words, as well as prepositions.

Homework: Students should do exercises given in their activity books on p 29 in order to practice the use of learnt words.
