FROM YOUR PASTOR

Mike Northcutt - ebc@eastmont.org

The Supreme Court will begin hearing oral
arguments today (April 28) that may universalize
same-sex marriage.

Few issues loom so large over our nations
direction. For several months Art and I have asked
you to make this a matter of fervent prayer. So many
of you have done just that. Thank you for being so
diligent.

I have been inspired by your resourcefulness
and persistence in prayer. You have prayed alone,
and with families. Some classes have called
special prayer meetings concerning this and other
issues. Groups have chosen prayer walks through
neighborhoods. Several are fasting one day a week.
Six people who have health issues and cannot food
fast, have agreed to a television/computer fast.
An appointed time each week, they spend time in
prayer that otherwise would have been absorbed in
TV or media. God will honor that.

Regardless of your plan, I call you once
again to pray. Since a ruling could possibly come in
June, would you join me in 40 days of prayer. Fast in
appropriate ways if you can. But by all means pray.
Remember fasting is designed to help you focus
upon God with greater intensity.

Too often our courts have substituted their
moral judgments for rule of law. While laws are
not always infallible, they are still the law. Judicial
imposition of values is even more fallible and
frightening.

This issue is complex. States rights,
biological commonsense, tradition measured
by millennia are all part of the equation. For us
as believers, the matter rest entirely on Gods
definition of marriage. It is defined as relationship
between man and woman. As followers of Christ we
will always be in favor of what He is in favor.

Please pray and then pray some more these
next forty days.

CHILDRENS MINISTRY
Jeremy Lynch - jlynch@eastmont.org

Children are a blessing from the Lord, and their security

anytime they are gathered here at Eastmont is one of our
highest priorities. Because we care, we are going to be
instating a tighter entry and a more secure door policy at each
exterior door that is closest to our Preschool and Childrens
hallways. Also we would like to maintain the bathrooms in
our Preschool area and across from Mrs. Wallaces office for
use by children only. This may prove to be an inconvenience
to some, but its purpose is for a greater cause.

Complimentary Mothers Day Family photos

will be made here at Eastmont on Sunday morning, May 10.
