Sports Day & Summer Fair


Its been such a busy week this weekthere
is almost too much news for one newsletter!
On Wednesday we held our Sports Day and
Summer Fair. The weather was perfect for
the day and we had a fantastic turn out
thank you to everyone who came to support.
A special thanks to
our new PTA, who
held a very successful stall at the summer fair and raised
30 with their popular balloons! A fantastic start to their
fundraising work
thank you!

End of Year Reports & Parents


Evening

Farm to Fork
Y6 Enjoyed a
visit to Tesco
on Wednesday
this week, finding out about
different
foods and what
makes a
healthy diet.
They completed a challenge to make they healthiest meal they could using the ingredients on the
shop floor. Gill, the group leader, was so impressed with the behaviour of all children, who
were a credit to the school. Well done Y6!

You should have received your childs end of


year report today. Please return the
acknowledgement and comments slip to
school next week. There will be a drop in
parents evening on Monday 29th from
3.30pm for any parents who wish to discuss
their childs report with the class teacher.
Please sign up in classrooms on Monday
morning.

South African Visitors


On Monday and Tuesday
next week we are excited
to be hosting visitors from
our South . Teachers from
Monte Vista Primary
School, Maitland High School and Parkhurst
Primary School in Capetown. Miss Haigh and
Miss Johnson visited their schools during
their trip earlier in the year and we cant
wait to show them around Barnsley!

Y5 Flamingo Land Trip


Y5 enjoyed a fantastic day at Flamingo Land to
end their Theme Parks project. Mr Marsh also
commented on the excellent behaviour by everybody on the trip. Well done Y5!

Y3 Swimming Stars
Weve received lovely feedback from Barnsley
Metrodome this week about our Y3 swimmers
staff at the Metrodome have commented on
what a great group of swimmers they are and
their excellent behaviour! Well done Y3!

PTA Balloon Sale


Following their success at the summer fair the
PTA will be selling rattle balloons outside the
school on Friday 3rd July at 3.30pm. Balloons
cost 50p.

Y2 Pirates

Y2 had a fantastic morning in the


woods with Gilly,
stretching their
imagining muscles
and learning to be
pirates!

Film Club is
now finished
for the year

September!

Barnsley Vocal Festival


In the middle of a very busy week the choir
managed to squeeze in an amazing performance
at the Barnsley Vocal Festival which took place
at Elsecar Heritage Centre. The choir performed four pieces on its own and took part in
three other songs along side four other choirs.
The children performed magnificently and
looked stunning in their t-shirts!
