WORK EXPERIENCE Pennington Biomedical Research Center 12/2009 – Present

Salary: $37,000 Per Year
Hours per week: 40

Research Associate

I use instruments of mass spectrometry to analyze various types of compounds and

biological samples, both from clinical research groups here at the center and outside
parties, and then prepare reports of my findings. I also conduct biomedical research
on diabetes associated with obesity and Alzheimer’s Disease. This involves preparing
organic and aqueous solvents, extracting biological samples, working with animal
models, ordering lab supplies and reagents, and using the computer for data analysis
and online bioinformatics.

National Hansen’s Disease Programs 11/1999 – 11/2009

Salary: $55,600 Per Year
Hours per week: 40

Senior Microbiology Laboratory Technician

I was the primary person responsible for setting up and performing laboratory
experiments in the Molecular Biology Department of the National Hansen's Disease
Programs Research Laboratory. I used a broad spectrum of molecular biology,
microbiology, and cell culture techniques because we usually had multiple un-related
experiments going on simultaneously. I was also the primary person responsible for
performing all the bioinformatics associated with our research, as well as the person
responsible for ordering and maintaining all scientific reagents used by the entire
department. I had to maintain a separate scientific notebook for each of our research
areas, all containing the pertinent details of the experimental setup as well as the
results of the research. I also had to design and maintain several electronic databases
that were necessary to catalog our biological samples and molecular products and
make them readily available, should they be needed. I became experienced at working
with human pathogens, including those at the biocontainment level 3 classification,
such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Reagent Chemical & Research 5/1999 - 11/1999

Salary: $10.00 Per Hour
Hours per week: 40

Quality Control Laboratory Technician

I was the primary person responsible for the analysis of hydrochloric acid or aluminum
chloride samples obtained from a supplier in order to prepare a certificate of analysis
to accompany the sale of these chemicals to a third party. I also designed and
maintained a computer database that could be used to catalog and sort the company's
entire chemical inventory, as well as generate a certificate of analysis based on the
analytical results of the experiments done in the quality control laboratory.

Salary: $6.50 Per Hour
Hours per week: 20

Undergraduate Researcher

I performed molecular and genetic laboratory experiments under the supervision of a

principal investigator in the College of Basic Sciences at Louisiana State University
while I was an undergraduate in the Department of Biological Sciences. I became
familiar with a broad spectrum of molecular biology techniques during this time.

Additional Educational Information:

Completed over 40 hrs. of biological sciences courses and over 20 hrs. of chemistry courses.

JOB RELATED I have completed training on the care and use of several large pieces of scientific
equipment and I am familiar with the use of many different types of laboratory
TRAINING equipment. I am also familiar with the use of a regular light microscope, a fluorescent
