had a long association with the work of Enda Walsh. Recent productions include The Walworth
Farc, Ballyturk, Misterman and The Last Hotel, a new opera written and directed by Enda Walsh
and composed by Donnacha Dennehy; and Mark ORowes Howie the Rookie, starring Tom

About Once
It was seen by over 50,000 people when it played at the Olympia Theatre last summer. Now, due to
phenomenal demand, the record-breaking stage show Once returns to the Olympia Theatre, Dublin
for 8 weeks only in summer 2016 from 2 July 27 August 2016.
Based on the movie sensation of the same name, filmed and set in Dublin, Once features music and
lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markta Irglov, including the Oscar winning Falling Slowly, and a
Tony award-winning book by Enda Walsh.
Once is about going for your dreams and the power of music to connect us. This funny, moving and
life-affirming love story with glorious music has captured hearts around the world. Seeing it where
it all began, at home in Dublin, is incredibly special. http://oncemusical.ie

Purpose of the Internship

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, motivated individual to be involved in a sustained
targeted marketing campaign designed to build a major brand with a particular focus on the tourist
market. In its premiere run in the summer of 2015, Once played to over 50,000 people at the
Olympia, 35% of whom were tourists. In year 2, we want to grow that number to 50%.

Next summer, Landmark Productions will once again present Once at the Olympia Theatre,
Dublin. The process of establishing Once as a tourist brand began in 2015 and will be consolidated
in 2016, with the help and support of both Filte Ireland and Tourism Ireland. We have identified
the tourist market as one of our primary target markets and will be working with Tourism Ireland
and Filte Ireland to engage more effectively with this group. The production requires additional
early marketing support given the significantly longer than usual run for this show and the long
lead in time needed to market effectively to tourists.
The internship is suited to a candidate who would like to be part of one of the most exciting shows
to play in Ireland next year and to develop skills in a very practical and hands-on way. It is also an
opportunity to learn more about the opportunities available to promote cultural events within the
tourist sector.
You will work closely with arts marketing consultant, Sinead McPhillips, who is managing the
marketing campaign. Sinead McPhillips is one of Irelands most experienced arts marketing
consultants, with many years experience of working with Druid Theatre Company, Landmark
Productions and other leading companies.
