First Story:
Olivia: Good afternoon, its 1 Oclock, heres the latest news.
Olivia: Police are continuing to investigate a burglary of three shops in Ventnor on New
Years Day. A 37 year old male was injured on the High Street during the attack and has
been hospitalized. 3 men have been arrested following the incident, our reporter Frankie has
more:
Frankie: 'At about 2:15am in the morning, local Ventnor stores Wendy's, Premier and the
former HSBC bank were broken into. The 37 male bravely attempted to protect the stores
windows from being smashed and suffered a fractured skull and several other injuries to his
head, causing him to be admitted to hospital.
Hampshire Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy and an 18 year old man from Ventnor, as
well as a 20-year-old man from Sandown on suspicion of burglary, theft and grievous bodily
harm with intent. They have been bailed until February 17.'

Second story:
Olivia: Two properties in Newport have been cordoned off after the discovery of a suspected
explosive at the front of the houses. The bomb disposal team from Portsmouth were called
to the deal with the explosive on Argyle Road at around 2pm. The two properties were
evacuated under safety precautions. Police have taken the item to Newport Police Station
where it will be inspected by the Royal Navys Bomb Disposal Unit, more information will
follow.
Third Story: Format will now be changed to a cue and clip story.
Repairs to Ryde Arena are starting to take shape after its closure in November last year due
to electrical faults caused by water damage. Chairman Ian Jenkins says the the ice rink is
being repaired in stages and should be complete for public access in February. Fortunately
the Christmas show 'Aladdin' is expected to go ahead but instead will be performed in the
Easter time.
Repairs are starting to shape and Ian says he appreciates the public's patience.
Fourth Story: Will now be removed from final script.
A 17-year-old boy from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of attempted Robbery of
Sandown Jewellers. Officers were called to the shop at around ten past twelve after reports
that a man had entered brandishing a nine inch kitchen knife and was making demands.
Witness said the youth was brought to the ground outside the jewellers by members of the
public, until the police arrived and apprehended the male. Detectives are appealing for
anyone who saw the incident to contact them, especially the driver of a blue transit van who
assisted the officers that made the arrest. No one was injured during the incident.

Fifth Story: Will now be re-written, once audio from two-way has been recorded.
Olivia: Random Rooms is a cool and exciting new idea coming to the Isle of Wight, its reallife Escape Room style activity where participants have to solve a series of puzzles, find
clues, unlock items and generally use your brain to achieve a particular goal within a time
limit! The new attraction will be based in East Cowes on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building
above the library.
'The Prisoner Room' opens 19th February 2016,
'The Goddess Room' will open in late March 2016.
Sixth Story:
Max: The Isle of Wight Festival 2016 is coming and this year the event should be bigger and
better than before. The acts are now starting to be announced and this year they include
SIGMA, JESS GLYNNE, PENDULUM, GABRIELLE APLIN AND BUSTED. Our Reporter,
Frankie is out on the streets to see what people think about this year's line-up so far.

Seventh Story:
Max: Island singer songwriter Lauran Hibberd has released her debut single, The House I
Built When I Was Small. Lauran studied music at Platform One, and shes managed by artist
management company, Live Island. Lauran says shes so excited about the release of her
single: I am so proud of the single, and Im so excited to be able to share it with people.
