July 2016

Frostproof, Florida
Pastors Remarks
Dear Church Family,
We had a good week at Vacation Bible School this year. It is always
a busy week, but a rewarding one. My special thanks to all the
leaders, teachers and helpers. You did an awesome job. Without
you we could not have done it.
I have heard many positive comments about the discipleship
curriculum that we are using this quarter, in our LIFE Group classes.
I hope you are attending and actively participating in a class. That is
where you will benefit the most. After this ten week period is over, I
want to encourage some of you to pray about taking somebody
through the material. It will mean taking an hour a week of your time,
but the rewards are worth the time and effort you will expend.
Remember, it is part of the process of making disciples, which is
the reason we exist as a church.
Youth camp is just a couple of weeks away. Please begin to pray for
the youth and adult leaders who will be going to Lake Yale. Pray for
their safety and that God will do a special work of grace in their
lives. Thanks to those of you who gave financially to support this
effort.

th

The July 4 weekend is almost here. As we celebrate the freedoms

that this great nation affords us, lets also celebrate our freedom in
Christ- freedom from the power and penalty of sin, because our Lord
Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin debt, so that we might be free.
We are blessed people indeed.
Lets be found faithful in these days!

Hello Family,
July is here and we are off to youth camp!
First of all, dont forget to thank God for the grace He has given and
to ask for his continued blessings on our nation as we celebrate our
independence. However, as we celebrate, do not forget that
Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his
glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all
things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21
I am very pleased to announce that our June Lock-In was a great success! In total, we had over 30 students from
7PM-7AM in our chur ch without any ER visits or Sher iffs depar tment involvement!!! But on a ser ious
note, thank you so much to the volunteers that helped out and made this event possible. This awesome experience
could not have happened without you.
Our students are very excited about all the activities that we have coming up in the next few months. Please
remember, July 11th will be our first day of Super Summer 2016! sponsored by the Florida Baptist Convention at
Lake Yale. Please begin to pray for the hearts of those who are going this year. Pray that this camp experience
will radically change their hearts for Jesus and the community, so that on their return they may impact Frostproof
in a way we have never seen before.
Also, just a reminder that September is coming up, signaling our huge evangelistic event known as MOBILIZE.
This years event falls on September 17th, so mark your calendars and begin to prepare. MOBILIZE is one of the
biggest evangelism events of the year that FBC Frostproof presents; so we will need all the help we can get!
Thank you for everything that you do, and we are looking forward to a great summer here at O2 Youth!
In His Grip,
Brian

First Baptist Church Members:
Thank you very much for the many acts of kindness
performed to make the service for Frances Pitts so
very special. She loved her church and all the people
there. We are grateful to Pastor Hood for a beautiful
tribute and message; to Brian Coon for operating the
sound and setting up for the dinner; and to the
pallbearers who honored her: Ronnie Hadden, Larry
Blackwelder, Rick Futch, Steve and Tim Hood, and
Mike Harney.
We appreciated the meal provided for the family. We
extend our heartfelt gratitude to Treva Morrison for
organizing the meal; to Betty Butler, Faith and Art
Tetrick, Mary Frances and Larry Blackwelder, Linda
Schwidde, Sandra Dawes, Carolyn Blocker, Gwen
Greenway, Grace Respress, Mary K. McDowell, Ruth
Cavanaugh, Louise Highly, Racheal Talley, Jenny B.
Smith, Mary L. Brantley, Julie Brantley, Martha
Moser, Patty Whidden, Carolyn Norris, Richard
Miller, and Delcie Lightsey for providing food and to
Tim and Lisa Hood for cleaning. We appreciate all
the cards, visits, and prayers. May God bless you all.
