Prosperidad National High School had intensified preparation to ensure successful outcome for the upcoming Mayors Cup 2015. The 68 participants trained well for 14 days and began a more hands on training at PNHS ground. With the 2015 Mayors cup meet-well underway on September 4, hundreds of spectators were marvelling at the physical skill and talent of the athletes competing in the games at Poblacion, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. Mr. Seth Aurel Magan, the sports coordinator was one of the thorough planners of the facilities and needs of the athletes. The coaches of the different sports event had their regular meetings for the players preparing a schedule for the early trainings of the 68 athletes from the different events which started last August 21, 2015. Our practices are not yet good enough to grab the trophy because of the unavailability of the basketball court, Coach Maguinda said. Moreover, Sir Magan said that the athletes physical feats were even more impressive mental prowess cultivated through their weeks of training. The minds of the players to tune out distractions, reduce stress and anxiety and build the focus and stamina they need to achieve optimal performance for the games. (Kyla Jane B. Genon)
