Pn. Hong Kim Neo welcomed the members of the panel who were present in the meeting. She also
congratulated the teachers on the 2015 SPM result.

2.1.

Mr. Iskandar welcomed the members of the panel.

2.2.

Mr. Iskandar congratulated the panel for the progress in the SPM result. He also mentioned that
there are still areas that can be improved and steps that can be taken to improve, such as the
upcoming Language Camp.

Confirmation of Previous Minutes

3.1.

Pn. Hong mentioned that should there be anything to be relayed in meetings or discussions,
teachers should meet her to provide information regarding the matter rather than passing a written
note or message.

Pn. Hong asked if the Form 4 modules is done. This matter is to be confirmed later.

Pn. Hong also asked if the teachers are applying Learn a Word a Day in their lessons. The teachers
responded positively.

Arising Matters

4.1

Pn. Ili Najlaa asked regarding the progress of the subscription of the newspaper because her
students who have subscribed to the newspapers still have not received the newspaper. Pn. Hong
mentioned that she will contact the person in charge and the teachers will be updated with the
progress later.

4.2

Ms. Musfirah asked about the deadline of the payment for the Form 3 module. Pn. Hong
responded that the payment should be done by Friday. April 15, 2016.

4.3

Pn. Ili Najlaa asked about the updates on OPS English. However, there are still no updates from
the Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) regarding the matter. Therefore, teachers are reminded not to
perform any writing activities during the lesson.

Post Mortem of SPM 2015

5.1

Pn. Hong mentioned that there is a great improvement from 2014, both in quality and quantity.
There is an increment of 3.88% in the result, and the GPMP went from 7.56 to 6.55. Pn. Hong
thanked the teachers for their efforts in making improvements in the result.

Pn. Hong asked about the 2016 SPM candidates. Pn. Lilywati explained that there are some
students who refused to cooperate in lessons. This matter is to be looked into later.

Panel Target of SPM/PT3 2016

6.1

Regarding the PT3 target, Pn Ili Najlaa mentioned that the teachers should work towards
reaching the target for 2016. Teachers should focus on the lower-intermediate students who have
potential.

Pn. Hong mentioned that the panel programmes are different that the programmes held by the

Financial

8.1.

Pn. Hong informed that PCG allocated for the English Language Panel this year is RM 2570.96.
The amount will be shared equally for the lower and upper secondary expenses

8.2

The extimated expenses for EL Week and English Camp are RM 317.00 and RM284 respectively.

School Based Examinations

9.1

For PBS, since the OPS English is being conducted for the form 1 and 2 students,

Since OPS English is still running for the form 1 and 2 students, PBS has not yet been carried out.
For the form 3 students, the PBS can be done in completing the exercise books.

9.3 For ULBS, the assessment should have been conducted by the teachers. Form 5 teachers should
also take notice of the issue and conduct the assessment in lessons. Form 4 classes should have
completed the first ULBS assessment.

Other Matters

10.1

The English Language camp will be conducted on the 23 rd of April 2016. The t-shirts will cost
RM15 each and the total number of participants so far is 82.

Teknik Menjawab SPM (Bahasa Inggeris) will be conducted on Tuesday, 19 th of April 2016 from
12:40-2:40. Teachers involved (Pn. Lilywati Isahar, Pn. Hong Kim Neo, Pn. Wong Wan Yuen, Ms.
Nur Farah Ain Mohamad Taman) are asked to participate in the session and will be relieved by
other teachers. The teachers involved are also asked to inform the administrators for relief periods.

Teachers who have performed the PLC are requested to hand in their reports to Pn. Khairiyah, Mr.
Iskandar and a copy for the panel file. For the lower secondary, Pn. Dahlias spot will be
substituted by Ms. Musfirah.

take action on the duties given according to the time allocated.

take responsibility and play their roles on their classes, especially the set system groups.

always think positive and conduct discussions with the Head of Panel as well as with
fellow colleagues on the allocated tasks.

Pn. Hong also reminded that for the fourth set of the timetable that will be out soon, teachers will
be sharing classes with Pn. Dahlia.

Mr. Iskandar announced on an English Language Workshop and asked if any of the teachers are
interested in joining.
