1.2 Complete a SDL lesson plan to describe the use of storytelling for

1.3 Add a 2-paragraph reflection to analyze the advantages and disadvantages to

use storytelling technique in the Chilean classroom context.

In general terms the use of storytelling is propose as a new and alternative way to involve
students to the use of ICT. First of all, the advantages include the fact that is an excellent
way to contextualize the lesson. Moreover, teachers have the possibility to create new
material based on their students perspectives which can be of great help in the teachinglearning process. Furthermore, teachers can engage easily to their students if they are
able to provide with interesting and entertaining materials. If students are the ones creating
the storytelling they can improve the use of technological resources. Also to feel that they
are the center of the class and not the other way around. Besides digital storytelling project
needs basic computer knowledge which most of teachers and students have, you do not
need to master the computer skills which is an advantage.

On the other hand, most of the disadvantages are the ones related with resources. It is
compulsory to have in mind that in terms of infrastructure a lab computer is available with
internet connection, microphones and the necessary equipment. Time consuming, in terms
of correcting and creating the material. To sum up with the advantages of using ICT
overtake the possible disadvantages.
