Annual Alvie Fun Run Saturday

The 7th Annual Alvie Hallock Memorial Fun Run will be held on Satruday,
July 23rd. Its a great family affair on Fort Peck Reservoir which was pretty
much Alvies playground all year-round, whether he was cruising around
in the summer or pulling someones vehicle from beneath the ice in the
winter time. The Fun Run gets underway around 10:00 at the Fort Peck
Marina, drawing your first card (10:00-11:00). Then its play time on the
pond and drawing a second card on York Island (noon-1:00). Rock Creek
is the next destination, picking up a third card (2:00-3:00). The fourth
card will be drawn back at York Island (4:00-5:00). And the final card
will be drawn back at the Fort Peck Marina at 6:00. Winners and prizes
will be awarded at 6:30. As for the kids, there will be a Scavenger Hunt
which includes lots of stuff Alvie found necessary, such as mid-calf white
socks, small comb for back pocket, cut-off jeans, you get the picture.
All are welcome to come and enjoy the day on Fort Peck in memory of
Alvie. Good friends may be gone, but are never forgotten. The
Adventures of Alvie will always live on!

Working in the lemon patch

Sally Mullihan of Coral Springs , Florida decided to
take one of the jobs that most Americans are not willing
to do. Sally applied for a job in a Florida lemon grove.
Sally seemed to be too qualified for the job. She had a
liberal arts degree from the University of Michigan and
had worked as a social worker and a school teacher.
The foreman frowned and said, I have to ask you,
have you had any actual experience in picking lemons?
Well, as a matter of fact, I have, said Sally. I have
been divorced three times, I have owned two Chryslers,
and I voted twice for Obama.
Sally starts work in the morning.
