The hot fishing story on Fort Peck is the northern pike bite; apparently the same goes for Home Run Pond. Shalynn, Avery, and Riley Pedersen pose with the northern pike Riley caught. And its a dandy, Riley!

FRIDAY
If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite. A 3 year-olds voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42-pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a superman cape. It is strong enough however to spread paint on all four walls of a 20 by 20 foot room. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using the ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesnt stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan. When you hear the toilet flush and the words Uh-oh, its already too late. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it. A six year old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year-old man says they can only do it in the movies. A magnifying glass can start a fire even on an overcast day. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq foot house 4 inches deep. Legos will pass through the digestive tract of a four year old. Duplos will not. Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence. Super glue is forever. No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still cant walk on water. Pool filters do not like Jell-O. VCRs do not eject PB&J sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes. Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving. You probably do not want to know what that odor is. Always look in the oven before you turn it on. Plastic toys do not like ovens. The fire department has a 10-minute response time. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy. It will however make cats dizzy Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

organizations mission statement reads: Dedicated to the promotion of Livestock, Agricultural Education, and Respect for Western Culture. This long-standing leader in Agricultural programs including the Stock Show & Rodeo, Montana Agri-Trade Expo, host of the Professional Bull Riders (Billings event) and so many more events began a scholarship program in 1990 based on that very mission statement. Thus, they are thrilled to announce that since the inception of those scholarship programs, the NILE has given over $470,000 in live animal and cash scholarships to Montana students statewide as of April 20, 2014. The NILE is proud of the over 410 youth rewarded including 257 who have been awarded Merit Heifers since the programs inception in 2003 and the 157 young adults who have been awarded college scholarships since 1990. Building better youth by creating opportunities to move agriculture forward through learning and promoting occupations that feed the world is something worth continuing! None of these opportunities would be possible without the dedication of the many long-time supporters. All of us involved would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every individual who has contributed to these programs over the years. Each year the NILE Foundation presents Stetsons & Stilettos. This annual black tie gala, held Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center, welcomes guests and donors alike to gather up for a celebration of the western way of life while allowing the aforementioned scholarship programs to grow. The Copper Mountain Band will treat attendees to outstanding entertainment while guests enjoy fine dining (four course steak dinner), dancing, live & silent auctions and much more! For more information about NILE programs including the Stetson & Stilettos ticket information, visit the NILE website at www.thenile.org or contact the office at (406) 256-2495.

When the annual Cal Ripken Pop Drive rolls around, its a zoo out there at Glasgow Distributors and a fun time to see the enthusiastic kids hard at work to raise money for their league.
While all the Cal Ripken teams did a fine job of hustling door-to-door peddling RC Cola, Hires Root Beer, Diet Rite, Orange Crush and the citrus-tasting Sun Drop, the Fossum Ready Mix crew topped them all. They are back row, left to right: Skyler Saiz, Kristian Price, Josie Kolstad, Cale Swanson, Kyle Southland and Loden Idler; front Row: Alexys Mann, Teddy Tryan, Trevor Dulaney and Devon Southland. Now theyll be gunning for the Glasgow Cal Ripken team title.

Scotty senior Lane Herbert placed 2nd in the javelin at the annual Top Ten Meet in Glasgow this past Tuesday evening. Lanes toss of 14909 they were throwing against strong, gusty winds was holding up for the lead before Braden Feistamel of Savage got one out to an even 154 feet. Lanes best throw of the season is 1631, the fourth best in the class B rankings. The Scotties are scheduled to be in Miles City on Saturday, the final meet before the District Tournament on Saturday, May 17th, in which the Scotties will play host.

It was a very successful Joyce Leatherberry benefit and family fun night held in Hinsdale on April 3rd. There was a spaghetti supper, chicken bingo and over 50 baskets raffled off. Winner of the chicken bingo was Emma Mix, daughter of Brian and Tasha Mix of Glasgow, pictured with her grandfather, Adrian Mix Jr., and Taryn Stebleton presenting her prize. Emma happily donated some of her winnings back to the benefit proceeds. In photo at right, Doris Tollefson, Thrivent Financial Action Team member, presents Joyce Leatherberry with a $250.00 gift card from Thrivent for her medical needs.
