Welcome back to Life Science class! This second semester we will explore new areas
in science. We will be using the textbook and workbook quite often. Please read the
information below and learn the expectations for the semester! For weekly schedules
visit my Science web site from the contact us link at the Lake Asbury Junior High
School home page.
The topics to be covered this semester will include the following:
Cells & Organisms
Heredity

Plants & Animals

Ecology

Diversity & change

Expectations: Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Do your Best.

Homework: Late homework will no longer be accepted for partial credit. All other
missed work must be made-up prior to the issuance of grades. It is the students
responsibility to make up missed work before or after school. Missed work will become
a zero at the time of grade submission to the county.
Make-up work: It is the students responsibility to ask for make-up work after an
absence. Please encourage your student to stop by my classroom before or after
school to collect make up work. Just before class and/or in between class is not an
opportune time to ask for missed work.
Science Project: We will complete at least one science project per quarter; this will
be either an individual or small group activity.
Textbooks: Your student checked out a textbook at the beginning of the school year
to keep at home. Please help your student develop good study habits by
encouraging them to study their classroom notes and read the material in
their textbook every night.
