Speech is a course that emphasizes public speaking in a variety of situations. The goals of the course include the following: Students will learn and use techniques to improve their ability to speak in front of others. Students will participate as active, respectful listeners. Students will become more critical thinkers and evaluators of themselves and others as speakers. Students will learn the importance of nonverbal elements in public speaking. Students will view themselves as successful public speakers.
