My name is Mateus Banuth, I am 25 years old.

I was born in
Rancharia, a town on the countryside of the state of So Paulo. I study
mechanical engineering in the city of So Carlos, at the University of
So Paulo also known as USP. I decided to study engineering
because since I was a kid I love to fix things, my dad had also an
influence in that decision, he is a mechanical engineer himself and I
wanted to follow in his footsteps.
My favorite hobby is to cook, sadly I only have time to do that
on weekends. My classes at the university are both in the morning
and afternoon. When I decided to study mechanical engineering, I
wanted to learn a new foreign language other than English, I thought
that would be important. The language I decided to learn was
german, due to all german car manufacturers. So at the age of 16 I
started studying german and I took part in an exchange program from
Rotary during my high school. I lived in Germany one year from
august/2008 to july 2009. I got to live in four different host families. It
was a huge cultural experience and I had a big personal growth.
Then, when I was already at the university I had another
opportunity to live in Germany on 2014 again: The Academic
exchange program Science without Borders from our government. I
studied there for one year from august 2014 to july 2015. During the
second semester of the program I had the chance to do a short
intership in a german Company. The intership had an emphasis on
CAD Computer aided Desing in 2 dimensions.
So now back to So Carlos: here I live in a Fraternity with 14
more students. We are responsible for organizing the soccer
championship between the fraternities. There are 64 fraternities,
including mine, that participate in the championship. It is divided in
three categories: Masculine First League which has 32 Fraternities,
Masculine Second league which has 24 fraternities, and Feminine
League which has 8 sororities. Although the championship has an
inscription fee, it has a no profit purpose. Its intention is just the
integration of the participants of the different Universities from So
Carlos. All the money collected with the inscription fees are used in
the championship. I help organize the championship since 2011 and
each year I had a different position ranging from financial director and
to marketing director.
