Personal Statement

One of the most remarkable achievements in my life was earning my college degree,

despite being born in Romania in 1985, during the communist regime. My childhood was like a

bad song that I listened to, not because I had the interest, but because there was no other option.

While we were young, my mother fled the country with my brother and me to live in a refugee

camp in Greece for eighteen months. She was sponsored by a charity and filed for asylum once

she arrived in the states. She worked three jobs to provide for us. I graduated with a bachelor's

degree and began building my career.

Because of my commitment to earning my degree, I worked as a project manager for six

months and then was hired as a leasing agent, where I excelled exponentially. I was promoted to

senior leasing manager, where I spearheaded all-new luxury residential developments for three

and a half years. Then I was hired as a director of integration and planning, worked there for two

years, then was hired as director of staffing and performance. I worked there for a year and

decided I needed to finish my master's, which I had started in 2016, but took only one class a

semester. I started my own real estate consulting services company end of 2019.

After experiencing a different work that opened up to me, I was excited by the new

encouraging environments that favored me to continue with my master’s degree. Currently, I am

interested in continuing with my master’s degree in (fill in your master's course), which now
