Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in your master’s program for Business Administration
(Digital Marketing). This degree is my chance to increase my growth and knowledge in both
professional and personal life. I am a 25-year-old who was 4 years of professional experience at a global
consumer goods and chemical company after my bachelor’s degree. I did not want to apply for a
master’s program right after I graduated from university because I wanted to see the business life first.
But now, I am at a level where I can combine my professional experience with higher education, from
one of the best universities in the world. Thus, I am ready to enhance my 4-year professional
experience with knowledge gained from this master’s program.

I do not want to state much about my professional life as you can see it on my CV. I am currently a
senior sales engineer at Henkel where I have several different responsibilities (My total annual sales:
25 M€). This is my 5th year at Henkel (1 year internship) and I know that this master’s program will be
the most important next step to reach my potential. So far in business, I have had deep experience in
sales but I want to be versatile. I know that we are in the age of digitalization and the effects of it will
only grow upwards in the future, which is why I am applying to Digital Marketing track.

While working in sales, you need to create and maintain good relations with your customers. As I have
several different responsibilities, I have different managers across the world. For example, for one
business unit that I run, I report directly to Germany, for the others I need to report to Turkey or India.
You always have to multitask and need to take urgent actions. You need to take credit for every action
you take because your actions have direct consequences to you and your company. After being in and
developing myself in this environment for 4 years, I can safely say that I am a social person who can
work with people from different cultures, I am versatile and I can handle pressure and work under
stressful situations.

I want to study my masters in University of Amsterdam for a handful of reasons. Firstly, it is among the
best universities in the world and I know that I will get educated from some of the best professors.
Also, providing support for internships and business opportunities is a big draw for me. I want to work
while I study this program. So, I am really excited to see which opportunities University of Amsterdam
can give me. I previously had experience with studying and living abroad during my time as an Erasmus
student in Ghent, Belgium during 2019. I also learned a little bit of Dutch during my time there but I
will definitely start learning from beginning when I come to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is my favorite city to visit in Europe. I have been there 5 times and the multi-layered and
multi-cultured atmosphere; all the opportunities and hidden gems of the city amazes me with every
visit. The city, and the country of Netherlands really checks all the boxes for me. After I finish this
program, I want to continue my professional life in Amsterdam. I want to live in that environment to
develop myself in every way.

To conclude, I believe this master’s program will give me the best opportunity to reach my potential. I
want to add on to my professional experience in University of Amsterdam. I would really appreciate if
I get the chance to be approved and study in one of the best universities in the world. With the quality
of its education, and the opportunities it presents, University of Amsterdam is a great fit for me.
