Whats the d
Fastest Filling Poly Bailer. SUPERBAILERSTM have the largest inlet

opening possible. They are designed so that water is funneled
into the bailer, not around it.
Fast Emptying. An extra large wide mouth top opening
allows rapid emptying during purging. The opening has a sharp
edge that enables precise pouring into sample vials.
Remains Full on Retrieval. Our patented sediment trap
reduces leaking by keeping sediments from under the ball
check.
Sample Layers for Thickness. The inlet is the
same diameter as the sample chamber. When
hydrocarbon layers are sampled, they maintain
virtually the same thickness in the bailer as in
the well.
The inverted funnel design lets water flow into

EON manufactures the disposable polyethylene Mini

Bailer for use in monitoring wells or in drive rod that is
3
/4-inch diameter or larger to recover groundwater
samples from temporary or permanent installations. The
Mini Bailer has an extra tight seal.
Micro Bailers provide sampling capability for the

smallest diameter wells and drive rod. EONs Micro
Bailers are made of clear PVC and will fit into 1/2-inch
diameter drive rod.

The entire length is smooth to prevent hang-ups in tight

spaces. The body diameter leaves a bit of extra space between the bailer and 3/4-inch casing to resist sand. Our
Deep-V check valve seals tightly to prevent sample loss.

We recommend weighted Mini Bailers to prevent the bailers from adhering to wet casing.

monitoring wells or drive rods 1.5-inch and larger. PVC is often
used when sampling material considerations are less stringent.
Because PVC has a higher specific gravity than polyethylene,
PVC bailers do not have additional weight added to enhance
sinking. Reusable PVC bailers have a thicker wall and are available with or without threaded removable ends for cleaning.

Disposable Teflon Bailers

TeflonTM Bailers are used to purge and retrieve
samples from 1-inch and larger wells having special chemical sampling needs. These bailers are
chemical-resistant, have a clear body, are in stock,
and are available weighted and non-weighted.
Our disposable TeflonTM bailers are made with a
thin wall to reduce material expense and to eliminate the labor and uncertainty of cleaning and reusing. While disposable TeflonTM bailers arent as rigid
as poly bailers, they are clear for viewing contents
during sampling.

The EQUILIBRATOR Passive Diffusion Sampler (PDS or PDB)
is used in place of purging and low-flow sampling methods in groundwater monitoring wells to obtain representative, discrete interval samples
of Volatile Organic Compounds under natural groundwater flow conditions.
The EQUILIBRATOR is also used in surface water and in stream bed sediments and embankments to identify and monitor contaminant discharge
areas. Simply fill the sampler with deionized water, install one or more
PDBs in the zone(s) of interest and return at the next sample event to
collect samples and replace samplers.

Optional Tether Preparation Service
Installing Passive Diffusion Samplers is even easier when you let
EON prepare the suspension tethers. We measure the tether
material, cut it to length, attach
a stamped well ID tag, and put
attachment connectors for the
diffusion samplers in the locations you specify. Then we spool
the prepared tether on the tether
frame and label the frame. All
thats left for you is to find the
well, fill the samplers, and install.
Pre-Filling Service
While most EQUILIBRATOR Diffusion Samplers are provided
unfilled to save shipping cost and to allow for field water
blanks, there are occasions
when pre-filling is desirable.
For those occasions, EON
can pre-fill the EQUILIBRATOR
with our standard ASTM
Type I deionized water or
with another of your choice.
Filled samplers are shipped
in poly sleeves or sealed in
diffusion-resistant pouches.

When passive diffusion samplers are buried in stream beds or
embankments they can be exposed to moving debris, sharp objects, soil pressures, or installation stress that may damage the
membrane.
EONs Protective Canister Screens allow the free passage of water
into the sampler while protecting the sampler from physical damage. Casings are made of 2-inch diameter slotted PVC with a
pointed tip and screw-off top. Diffusion samplers are placed inside the canister and the entire assembly is installed.

Passive Vapor Diffusion Sampler (PVD)

Passive Vapor Diffusion Samplers are used in the soil or saturated
sediments to collect vapor phase concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds. Samplers consist of an empty, open 40mL VOA
vial enclosed in a semi-permeable polyethylene membrane. The
samplers are installed directly in sediments above or beneath the
saturated zone.
When installed, the membrane screens out water vapor, soil, semivolatile compounds and metals and allows VOCs to enter the
membrane and fill the vial by the passive diffusion process. When
retrieved, the vials are capped and sent to a lab for analysis.

How it Works
1. PLACING SAMPLER
HydraSleeve is lowered into place on a suspension tether and
positioned in the well screen. Water pressure keeps the sample sleeve
collapsed and the valve closed, preventing water from entering sampler.
After the sampler is installed, the well is allowed to return to equilibrium.
2. SAMPLE COLLECTION
The sampler is pulled rapidly upward through the sample zone. As it
moves upward, the valve at the top opens, allowing water to be sleeved
into the sampler. There is no change in water level and minimum sample
agitation during collection.
Samples a zone 2-2.5 times the sampler length.
3. SAMPLE RETRIEVAL
The flexible bag is full and the check valve closed. Sampler is recovered
without entry of extraneous, overlying fluids. Note: Several HydraSleeves
may be placed at intervals on the suspension cable for vertical profiling.
HYDRASLEEVETM

HydraSleeve recovers a discreet sample from

PERISTALTIC PUMPS
Solinst Peristaltic Pump, 12 Volt DC
The Solinst 12V DC Peristaltic Pump is designed for vacuum
pumping or pressure delivery of liquids or gases and is ideal for
sample removal from shallow wells and surface water to pumping
depths of about 25 feet.
The metal case is extremely robust and water resistant. It has no
grates or openings and has a handle for portability. The pump
is powered by any external 12 Volt DC supply (such as an auto
or marine battery) small gel cell, or directly from vehicle power.
The variable-speed motor is reversible, and it is equipped with
an internal fuse and reverse polarity protection.

Peristaltic Sampling Pump, 12 Volt DC

Our newest Peristaltic Sampling Pump is lightweight, compact, and batterypowered for field sampling of monitoring wells, surface water, waste water,
tanks and manholes to pumping depths of about 25 feet.
The watertight enclosure is made of impact-resistant and corrosionresistant ABS plastic, and all control buttons are sealed to prevent water
entrance. An internal gel-cell battery allows extended operation away
from external power sources, and an optional power cord allows use of
an automotive battery or vehicle power-port for sustained use. A hinged
cover plate provides quick and simple access to the roller assembly,
making the pump tubing easy to replace.

NOMADTM Stainless Steel Pump, 12 Volt DC

The Stainless Steel NOMADTM 12VDC Pumps are perfect for light purging, standard sampling, and
low-flow sampling in wells (2-inch diameter and larger) to depths of 50 feet. All water-contact
pump components are stainless steel to meet the most rigorous requirements. The hand-held
controller enables the user to vary the flow. Unlike plastic pumps, The NOMADs modular
design allows for quick field replacement of the motor at a fraction of the cost of replacing an
entire pump. Electric cables and controllers are hard-wired to the pump.
Each pump has a 10-foot power cord with battery clamps or power port adapter. One spare
motor is provided with every new pump. For added performance at reduced cost, our newest
NOMAD models are made from ceramic coated aluminum, instead of stainless steel. They
provide contamination resistance and higher pumping rates at an economical price.

Grundfos RediFlo2TM Pump
Grundfos is the most widely known and accepted name

in environmental pumping applications.
The Grundfos RediFlo2 (RF2) is an electric submersible
pump for purging, sampling, and for low-flow sampling
of 2-inch and larger wells. It is capable of pumping a
smooth, uninterrupted flow to depths of 250 feet or
more at user controlled rates from 100 ml/min to 9
GPM, depending on depth to water. All water contact
components are stainless steel or TeflonTM for sample
integrity.
VFD Pump Controller
The Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is required to operate

the Grundfos RediFlo2 pump. It converts 110V or 230V AC
single-phase power into a variable frequency signal to power
and control the pump speed. The VFD has a digital display that
indicates pump status and self diagnostics. Controls include
automatic dry-run shut-off and inputs for remote operation
and level controls.

ELECTRICAL CABLE OPTIONS
The Standard Grundfos configuration utilizes flat,
TefzelTM coated electric cable from the controller to the
pump. This configuration can be dedicated or mounted
on a hand-held reel for convenient portability.
INW HAPPY CABLE is a round, more durable electrical cable with a built-in strain relief cable. It is available
in several materials to match usage conditions.
INW HAPPY HOSE combines an electrical cable
and discharge hose that are bonded together in one,
tangle-resistant system, which is especially desirable for
dedicated systems.

The RediFlo2TM DedicatorTM option provides the user with a custom configured pump system that can be placed in the well right
from the factory and left installed for repeated sampling. For
convenience and security, an optional well head (cap) enables
the user to easily connect power and discharge tubing without
removing the well cap. The well head also features a port for
lowering a water level tape. Each system is completely assembled
and tested at our facility.
Electric Submersible Pumps
The Reel EZTM is a reel-mounted system for portable purging and sampling and
convenient storage. The reel is constructed of all-welded and anodized tubular
aluminum and can hold 250+ feet of cable and tubing or Happy Hose, but it
still meets UPS shipping requirements. The VFD output cable plugs directly into
the reel for operation without unspooling the entire cable.
A large handle and brake make winding easy and secure. The cable spools
over a large plastic drum to prevent cable damage from scraping the casing.
The reel can be hung on the side of the casing.

Bladder Pump Controllers

Bladder pumps require a controller to cycle the
compressed air in and out of the pump. Controllers
allow the user to adjust the pumping rate and the
pumping pressure by controlling the time between
the fill and exhaust cycles.
Standard
Our Standard Electronic Controller is fully automatic
with preset sample modes for typical drive and vent
rates. The pre-set rates can be adjusted manually
for optimum pumping. Internal batteries provide
continuous operation for 30 hours. Operates to 160
PSI. Heavy duty model to 250 PSI.
Dual Range
Our Dual Range Controller is the most versatile
controller and can be used for all pumps including Standard and Mini Bladder Pumps. It features
independent pressure regulators and independent
timing of pressure and exhaust cycles for precision
control of sample volume. The standard model will
operate 2-3 days on a single charge of its 12 V
internal battery.
Dual Range Deluxe
The Dual Range Deluxe Controller incorporates an
air compressor for remote operation up to 1.5 hours
without supplemental power. Pumping time can be
extended with an external marine battery or vehicle

Water Level Meters are used to measure the depth to water in

wells, stand-pipes , and piezometers. A water-sensing probe
is lowered on an electrical cable. The probe gives an audible
and a visual alarm on contact with water. The depth is read
off the incrementally marked tape when the alarm sounds.
Interface meters are used to measure the depth to the top

of a floating petroleum layer and the depth to the top of the
water surface beneath the floating layer. Operation is the same
as our water level meters except with two separate sensors
imbedded in one probe.
This meter uses a flat, non-stretch, reinforced plastic tape,

spooled on a sturdy reel. The tape is designed so it will not
stick to wet casing. Features include a lightweight metal stand,
reel brake, battery drawer on the reel, sensitivity adjustment,
and auto-off circuitry to save batteries. Markings are at 1/100
and 1/10 foot. Optional waterproof probe can be used to
gauge total well depth.
Petroleum sensor uses a light diffraction cone. Distinctly different alarm tones indicate which surface is being measured.
Layer thickness can be calculated from the two measurements.
Features include a lightweight metal stand, reel brake, battery drawer on the reel, sensitivity adjustment, and auto-off
circuitry to save batteries. Markings are at 1/100 and 1/10
foot. Nylon Carry Bag is included.

The PS9800 is housed in an all stainless steel waterproof

probe for environmental compatibility and connected to a
user determined length of electrical signal cable. Choose
vented (gauge) transducers to eliminate the effects of
barometric pressure changes or non-vented (absolute)
sensors for total pressure measurement. Temperature measurement can be added to each sensor for temperature
compensation calculations. INWs patented design allows
factory calibrations, repairs, or replacements of internal
circuit without replacing the housing or cable assembly.

The LeveloggerTM is a miniature pressure transducer and

data logger in one submersible probe for measuring
water level and temperature changes over time in wells
and standpipes. Recording intervals and test duration
configurations are pre-programmed into the logger by
the operator with a PC, an infrared communications kit,
and the Windows-based setup and download software.
Settings are available for immediate or delayed start. After
setup, Levelogger is lowered below the water surface on a
non-electrical suspension cord to begin recording. When
the test interval is complete the Levelogger is removed
from the well, and the data is downloaded to the users
PC. An optional Direct Read Signal Cable allows interface
with the PC without removing logger from the well. Sealed
permanent batteries offer a 10-year average life.
The Levelogger uses an Absolute (non-vented) pressure transducer. If barometric compensation is required, a separate
Levelogger can be used at surface to record barometric
changes, which can then be subtracted from well data
using a spreadsheet program.

Level and Temperature with Built-in Data Logger
The PT2X is an extremely easy to use submersible Pressure
Transducer and digital Data-Logger combined in one miniature
stainless steel probe. Use the PT2X for slug testing, aquifer monitoring, stream or wetlands management, pump and remediation
control, and industrial and process applications.
The pressure transducers incorporate built-in temperature

compensation, which provides accurate and stable readings,
even in changing environments. Vented (gauge) transducers
are available to eliminate the effects of barometric pressure changes, or use non-vented (absolute) transducers
where barometric pressure is not a factor or is measured
independently. Transducers are calibrated to NIST traceable standards, and software allows for in-place field
calibrations. Our unique design allows factory servicing
of the transducer and replacement or upgrade of internal
components.

Water Level Measurement
Using the Aquistar4Plus software and a PC, laptop, or

Palm handheld device, the built-in logger allows fast
and easy user set-up of all logging parameters (including
single or multiple logging rates, units of measure, instant
or delayed start, synchronizing logger clock to the users
computer, and downloading data). Multiple test configurations or sessions can be created and stored in memory
for recall and use while in the field. Since each PT2X is
individually addressable, up to 32 units can be deployed
on a single cable or wireless system just like a PC network.
The PT2X readily interfaces with industrial control and
SCADA systems.
Readings can be viewed in real-time, or stored data can
be accessed and download as often as desired without
interrupting logging. A Palm device can also serve as
an optional and inexpensive hand-held readout or for
downloading data. The PT2X stores up to 130,000 timestamped readings that remain stored onboard the PT2X,
even after downloading, to maintain data continuity and
redundancy.
Low power consumption allows over 500,000 readings on
one set of user-replaceable AA batteries. Auxiliary power
can be supplied through the cable. An optional digital
output channel allows on/off control of a separate device,
such as a pump or an alarm, based on user-defined parameters.
The Aquistar4Plus software provides data handling capability including numeric display, graphing, and export to
spreadsheet functions. All functions are menu driven, using
point and click Windows functionality.
DATA COLLECTION
Wireless Remote Data Communication
A typical installation might have one or more pressure/level

transducers or water quality sensors connected to each of several WaveData units scattered about a field site. A nearby office
location with WaveData capability could interface directly with
each site and its connected sensors. A WaveData cell phone
modem on site can be called from anywhere in the world to
communicate with connected sensors.
Each wireless point is packaged in a small, rugged field enclosure for deployment at a well head or in a secure location
and can support remote communications for 1-32 individually
addressable sensors. Using low power, they operate for up to
a year on common batteries (or even longer with our small
solar panel).
Simply plug the sensor cable connector into the WaveData port
and initiate the AquaStar4Plus software on your PC, Laptop,
Palm, or Pocket PC. The software accesses the communication
device, automatically scans for remote connections, and displays them by name on the screen. Click one of the displayed
sensors to see its status, take an instantaneous reading, view
or upload data, or download new settings.

The full-featured logger allows programming for event or

time triggers, logging by exception, alarming and outputs
to control auto dialers, or turning on or off pumps or other
equipment. Sensor inputs are independently converted to
the users unit of measure. The logger interfaces with radio,
cell phone, satellite and other communication modes and
allows for external power, including solar recharge. It has
expandable inputs and outputs with multiplexers.

Our newest Conductivity Meter is ideal for profiling down-hole conductivity and
temperature. Use it for saltwater intrusion investigations, tracer studies, and for
tracking changes in a basic monitoring parameter.
The meter is mounted on a Solinst reel and precision flat tape.
The conductivity sensor uses
platinum electrodes to provide
accurate readings that are
displayed, with temperature,
on the LED screen. A light and
buzzer indicate water contact.

The YSI 550A DO meter is waterproof, rugged, and reliable. It allows simultaneous measurement of dissolved oxygen and temperature and features a backlit
display, automatic push-button calibration, and a weighted, quick-sinking probe.
The 550A also has a built-in calibration chamber, low-battery indicator, direct
salinity, and altitude compensation. It will calibrate in % or mg/L saturation and
displays temperature in user selected degrees C or F. The DO electrode is easily
field replaceable, and the replacement membranes are built
into screw-on caps. Battery life
is rated at 2,000 hours.

The Hanna model 9142 is a moderately priced dissolved

oxygen meter that is excellent for field use and suitable
for down-hole or above ground measurements. The
hand-held meter is waterproof, has a large digital display, two-button operation, and automatic temperature
compensation. Two-point manual calibration can be
easily performed in air at 100% saturation and with
zero oxygen solution. Replacement membranes are premounted in screw-on caps for quick field installation. The
9143 offers all the features of the 9142 plus an extended
oxygen measurement range, salinity and altitude compensation, and automatic in-air calibration. Includes:

Portable Multi-Parameter Meter

The Horiba U-22 is an easy-to-use field instrument for simultaneous
measurements of up to 13 parameters. The probe fits into 2-inch wells
or can be used with the custom flow-cell. Readings are displayed on
a handheld meter with digital readout, or the meter can be left in
place to automatically log up to 1 month of data. Logged data can
be transferred to the users PC.
One-point calibration is simple using the multi-parameter Auto-Cal
solution. Press one button for a simultaneous one-point calibration
of pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, and DO. The system enables twopoint calibrations where high-precision measurement is required.
Individual sensors are housed in a rugged stainless steel probe with
a permanently attached cable.

EONs SoakSock is an economical absorbent sock that can be lowered into 2-inch
diameter or larger wells and will selectively absorb floating hydrocarbon while
minimizing water retention. SoakSocks
are especially useful for wells with thin
layers, even down to a sheen. They have
attachment loops at the top and bottom
for securing to lowering cord. An optional
stainless steel, reusable bottom weight can
be attached to facilitate lowering. A Snap
Connector accessory eliminates tying knots
when replacement SoakSocksTM are installed.
SoakSocksTM are disposable, but weights,
clips, and cord are reusable.

The EON PetroBailer is
a low price passive skimmer that is used to recover gasoline, jet fuel, or
similar light hydrocarbons
floating on the surface of
the water in wells 2-inches
in diameter and larger.
Lower the PetroBailer on
a lightweight tether cord
attached to the top of the
well. Floating Hydrocarbon
enters through the hydrophobic filter and fills the
reservoir.
Return periodically to remove the skimmer and
empty the reservoir by
unscrewing the top and
pouring out the contents.
Reinstall for continual product removal.
Since it floats at the interface, the PetroBailer tracks
water level changes and
operates unattended.

The MVP series pumps are installed

below the water surface with air
tubing and water discharge tubing
extending from the pump to the
surface. Fluid enters the pump by
positive displacement through a factory configured top or bottom intake and accumulates in the
reservoir chamber until the chamber
is full. A level float senses the full
chamber and initiates a pumping
cycle during which the chamber
is pressurized, and fluid is forced
out of the chamber into the discharge tubing. Once the chamber
is empty, pumping stops and the
cycle repeats.

LNAPL Active Skimming System, Pneumatic
EON features the FAP pneumatically operated system for actively

skimming floating hydrocarbon from wells 2-inches and larger or from
vertical casings installed in intercept trenches where free product accumulates. The FAP is effective for petroleum liquids such as gasoline,
diesel fluid, hydraulic fluids, and heating oils up to #6-grade. All installed
components are pneumatic for use in flammable environments.
Hydrocarbon Removal
The FAP Plus consists of a flexible-body bladder pump that is suspended in the well above the liquid layer. A skimming float is attached
to the bottom of the pump and floats at the product/water interface. A
hydrophobic filter on the float separates the product from the water, down
to sheen, allowing only hydrocarbon into the pump chamber where it is
then pumped out of the well through discharge tubing. A second intake
port located above the interface, allows product to bypass the filter and
flow directly into the pump when the hydrocarbon layer is thicker than a
few inches. This speeds recovery and reduces filter maintenance.
The standard skimming filter assembly intake accommodates up to 36
inches of vertical travel and tracks water level fluctuations. An optional
High Water Shut-Off is recommended to prevent water intake in wells
with larger water level fluctuations. Special skimmers are available for
intake of high-viscosity fluids or for use where there is minimal depth
of water in the well below the product. An optional timer allows the
system to cycle on and off to match inflow of product with removal rate.
A shut-off device turns the system off when the containment tank is full.
A special well cap, or clincher, secures the top of the well casing and
is fitted with pass-through tubing fittings to allow adjustments to pump
depth settings.

The Grundfos RediFlo3TM is an all

stainless steel electric submersible pump that can be used for
pumping clean or contaminated
water from 4-inch wells or for
leachate collection systems in
access tubes under landfills.
The RF3 can pump for sustained periods, is capable of
pumping from depths with over 500 feet of lift at rates to over
30 GPM, and can be operated horizontally, vertically, or any
angle in between. Internal solid-state controls allow the pump
to be programmed with basic run rates and dry run shutoff.
The external CU300 controller allows the
user to set pump speed and functions and
provides a digital display of settings and
performance.
The CU300 also serves as an input for
external level or pressure transducers or
flow meters, to enable control functions
such as maintaining a specific flow rate,
pressure, or level.
Our wireless system allows remote
monitoring & control of RF3 pumps from
users PC.
The mSparge is a micro-bubble sparge point. Microbubble technology allows the injection of ozone, air,
oxygen or other gases to promote enhanced bio-activity
or the oxidation of chemical contaminants.
The mSparge is an inexpensive addition to an existing
system that will measurably accelerate clean-up activities. The mSparge utilizes an engineered polypropylene
injection point for installation in an existing 2-inch well.
A stationary packer is placed above the mSparge point
preventing migration of the injected gas up the well and
focusing distribution, promoting better migration through
the formation.
Threaded PVC riser pipe is used as a conduit to the surface and is secured to the 2-inch well pipe. At the surface
a female 1/4 NPT pipe thread or 11/4 PVC pipe nipple is
provided for connection to your air or gas supply.

recovery of an intact soil
core from the soil surface,
the bottom of pre-drilled
or hand-augered holes,
or excavations.
This specially designed

sampler enables recovery of sludge and
wet materials in shallow boreholes and
pond sediments.
A sturdy push-tube is manually advanced into soil

using a rigid extension
rod or driven with a slide
hammer. An internal liner
captures and holds the
recovered soil intact. End caps minimize loss of volatiles from
the liners and are included in our Basic Soil Sampling Kit or
sold as separate items.
A one-way flapper
valve allows entry of
sludge as the sampler is pushed into
the material. As the
sampler is withdrawn,
the valve closes, retaining the sample. Liners are used to

Auger Buckets
are available in

tapered closer together to better
hold loose soils. The hardened blades are slightly larger in
diameter than the auger body to reduce friction. Our Auger
Buckets use high carbon steel bits with tungsten carbide edges
and choice of screw-together couplings, slip together Hex or
slip together Round Quick-Connect couplings. EON stocks
the standard 31/4 -inch diameter, but other sizes are available.

Extension Rods
Extension Rods are used between the T-Handle and the Auger
Bucket to advance probes and hand augers to depth below the
surface. The connections should be selected to match the probe
or auger. Available in plated steel or stainless steel.
Slide Hammer
Use our Slide Hammer to drive Soil
Core Liners into resistant soils. Attaches
to Extension Rods by threaded connections. Rubberized coating reduces operator fatigue and improves safety.
T-Handle
A T-Handle attaches to the top Extension Rod for rotating
hand augers into the soil. T-Handles are available with or
without rubber-coated handles. Specify connections to match
the probe or auger.
Liners & Caps
These Liners function as
sample retaining cylinders when used in the
Soil Core Sampler. Plastic caps seal the ends
of liners to help prevent
loss of volatiles. Teflon
swatches are available
to line the caps. The sizes listed in the ordering block fit our
Core Sampler. Other sizes are available.
Soil Gas Vapor Sampling Systems

Soil gas samplers are
a simple and low cost
method for obtaining gas
samples beneath the soil
surface when monitoring hydrocarbon spills,
tank and pipe leakage,
landfills, and hazardous
waste sites.
The Soil Gas Vapor
Probe is used for shallow monitoring to about
4 feet. The probe is
manually pushed into place with a rigid Extension Rod and
our T-Handle or Drive Hammer. The inner rods prevent soil
from entering the sampler during driving and are removed for
sampling. Sample tubing is attached to the top rod to extract
vapor samples.
Our Soil Gas Vapor Dedicated Points are installed into a
small drilled hole or pushed into place with extension rods
and can be left in place indefinitely. The small stainless steel
points are configured with vapor ports for gas inlet and a hose
barb on the back side for TeflonTM sample tubing. The ports are
protected from debris by a Teflon Umbrella disk to prevent
clogging. An optional Port Screen is available for additional
debris filtering.

Photoionization Detectors
(PID) are handheld instruments that measure and
display the combined concentration of a range of
common VOCs in the air.
One number represents the
total of measured VOCs
expressed as equivalents to
the calibration gas.
Flame Ionization Detectors

(FID) burn Hydrogen fuel to
ionize Volatile Organic Compounds in the air and provide
a measure of the combined
VOC concentrations.
FIDs have a wider VOC
range and lower detection limits. The Photovac
MicroFIDTM is the smallest
and lightest Flame Ionization Detector available and
is virtually immune to water
vapor.
PIDs are used for environmental screening, sampling,

regulatory compliance, and
worker safety.
The 2020 ProTM is Photovacs
newly designed and upgraded PID. It is smaller, lighter,
and more user-friendly with
an ergonomic grip and menu-driven choices.
The 2020 Pro monitors continuously with the built in
pump drawing air samples past the detector. A large 7line graphic digital display continually reports concentrations. An alarm can be set to trigger at user determined
concentrations. Calibrations performed on one gas can
be converted to equivalent concentrations of other gases.
Data logging can be performed at pre-set intervals and
STEL, peak, and time weighted average can be displayed.
Data can be tagged to conform with EPA Method 21. The
2020 Pro Chart Software ensures easy and useful downloading of thousands of data points.

The NITON XL-309 Lead
in Paint Analyzer is a
portable, hand-held Xray fluorescence analyzer
that performs rapid, nondestructive measurements
of lead in paint in homes,

Multi-Element Environmental Analyzers

These easy-to-use, hand-held, portable instruments all
use low-energy X-ray fluorescence (XRF) to simultaneously
measure the concentration of over 24 toxic metals including
the 8 RCRA metals, in soil, plastics, textiles and other bulk
materials, on filters, and in thin films. Non-destructive test
yields lab-quality results in minutes. Uses include environmental site investigation, regulatory compliance, and industrial
quality control.
Test readings and reading precision are displayed and
updated as the reading progresses. All tests are numbered

The MiniSort is a small, lightweight,

hand-held, portable, battery-operated
alloy sorter used to quickly identify
grades of aluminum, copper, and titanium alloys. This is an excellent tool
for sorting scrap and for quality assurance
testing where alloy grade ID is useful.
POINT AND SHOOT OPERATION
The instrument is touched to the metal
surface where it produces an electric
spark that burns a miniscule amount
of metal. The spark is analyzed by the
MiniSort using Optical Emission Spec-
trometry (OES) to determine the elements

in the metal and their concentrations. The
name of the alloy is displayed on the
screen. The user can choose to display
the chemistry along with the I.D.
ther calibration or standardization during its lifetime; however, the user can
edit the grade library. Calibrations are
prepared against certified standards,
analyzed samples, or suitable alloys.
EASY TO TRANSPORT
Unlike other OES systems, the MiniSort
does not require bulky and heavy accessories or gasses to operate because it
employs state-of-the-art technology and
its use is limited to the sorting of common
lightweight alloys. The MiniSort is factory
calibrated and does not require any fur-

The instrument is rugged and will operate for up to 8 hours on its rechargeable

Bentonite Sleeve Seal
PrePak jackets enable the installer to turn PVC slotted

screen into PrePak screen on
an as-needed basis.
The jackets are cylindrical tubes
of silica sand having a stainless
steel mesh inside and outside,
with layers of silica sand between
the mesh. They slide over PVC
slotted screen and are clamped
in place over the slots.
Jackets reduce shipping cost and are available in standard,
fine, and ultra-fine grain sizes to match native soils.
Bentonite seals are used above the

PrePak screen to ensure placement
of a water tight seal without relying
on pouring or pumping sealing materials down the small space between
the casing and borehole.
The sleeve seal consists of granular
bentonite clay pre-packaged around
a short, flush-threaded casing section. The section is installed above
the screen in the casing string. When
lowered into position, the bentonite
hydrates and swells to form a water tight seal between the casing
and the borehole.

Tubing is clear.
LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) is chemically resistant but less
flexible than Vinyl tubing. Tubing is translucent white.
TLPE (TeflonTM Lined Polyethylene) is polyethylene tubing with a thin
TeflonTM lining for added internal chemical resistance.
TeflonTM (FEP, PFA, PTFE) is the Dupont trade name for a variety
of fluoro-polymers that are resistant to absorption and leaching
of most chemicals. Tubing is opaque white.
