REPORT FORMAT:
Objective: : To measure, using a calorimeter, the energy changes accompanying
neutralization reactions
Topic 1: Calibration of Calorimeter
Procedure:
1. 50.0 mL of tap water was placed in the calorimeter cup and replace the
cover and thermometer. The temperature was recorded after 2 minutes.
2. 50.0 mL of water was placed in a clean, dry 250 mL beaker and heated
with a low flame until the temperature was approximately 15 to 20oC
above room temperature.
3. The tap water was mixed with the hot water and the heat change was
measured
