Well October is almost gone. Time is going by so fast.

It is time to study Dia De Los Muertos. This means that students are encouraged to
bring a pictures or an item that represents a loved one that has passed away. This
can include pets. This is a celebratory event. It is a day to celebrate the time they
spent on earth. If they can bring the items by Wednesday that would be great. We
will be having the final celebration next Tuesday. There will be additional
information given by Mrs. Willams.
On a separate note, this week you will be receiving the CASPP scores by Friday. The
office personnel will be sending them out to last years address. If you do not
receive them please let the office know.

Hot Topic

Reading- We are focusing on

comparing setting in literature
and using words in context
clues.
Writing- We are focusing on
revising narrative text by using
descriptive language for
characters, settings, and events.

There are many groups that have

finished their book club book in
Spanish and will start reading a
book in English. It is important
that they read for 20 minutes
every day. This includes searching
for vocabulary they dont know
and writing the gist of each page.

Our Hot Topic homework will continue to be

in Spanish. It should be taking the students
30 -45 to finish each task throughout the
week.

We will be taking the mid assessment on Monday. It will assess adding and subtracting
fractions. We will then continue to add and subtractions mixed numbers. It will be
assessed on Friday.
