between terms. Students learned the distributive property of multiplication and order of operations (PEMDAS). Next week we will be having extra math lessons on patterns and order of operations. These extra math lessons help us cover the new Common Core standards, but they are not tested on the topic test. Our topic test will be next Thursday. Extra credit will be offered on Wednesday.

The best way to prepare for this test is to practice, practice, practice. www.spellingcity.com/triton5

Note From the Teacher:

We had such a great time on our Flashlight Friday. Im sure your student has already told you all about it! Its great when we, as teachers, can create fun and memorable learning experiences for our students. Thank you to the parents who signed up and supplied us with our treats for our fall party. It was much appreciated. Today the new Book It calendar is coming home. Students must read 600 minutes within the month in order to qualify for the free pizza certificate. Encourage your child to read 20 minutes a day. Also coming home today is Novembers Scholastic book order. Orders will be due November 27. Remember, you can order online as well. Each time you order a book it earns you and the class a free book! Think of Christmas gifts. :)
