    Phase noise is random variation in the period of a nominally periodic waveform and is measured in dBc/Hz at a certain frequency offset from the carrier. It arises from fluctuations in the oscillator frequency. Phase noise is important because it can corrupt signals for both receivers and transmitters.     noise specs on RX than on TX.

    stringent as that of RX.
