They are making fun of him, but he thinks they are friends.
AFTER PROGRESS REPORT 9:
Charlie is becoming almost too smart for people and growing very quickly.
2. How does Charlie view himself? He now views himself as smarter than
others and wants to talk about serious topics.
Text Evidence: I tried to avoid all discussions of intellectual concepts and to
keep the conversation on a simple, everyday level,...

3. How do OTHERS view Charlie? They now view him as very smart and a
little strange
Text Evidence: That strange look on Dr. Strauss face can mean only one of
two things. Either he doesnt want to tell Nemer what theyre saying in India,
or else- and this worries me- Dr. Straus doesnt know either.

2. How does Charlie view himself? He know understand that there is nothing
he can do to stop the process, he is just using himself for the sake of the
experiment.
Text Evidence: I keep telling myself I must keep writing these reports so that
somebody will know what is happening to me

3. How do OTHERS view Charlie? It does not really mention other people in
these pages so it probably still hasnt changed from the last time but Dr.
Straus might be able to see a difference.
Text Evidence: Dr. Strauss came to see me again. I wouldnt open the door
and I told him to go away. I want to be left to myself.
