Paper Size, Spacing and Margin


Use letter size paper 8.5 x 11;
Observe double (2) spacing all over the manuscript except for figure and table titles; and
Top, right side and bottom margin must be 1.0 while left side margin must be 1.5.
Font Style and Size

Use Times New Roman font style;


Headings (i.e. Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4 and Chapter 5) must have a font size of 14;
Side headings, titles of the chapter and content must have a font size of 12;
All figure and table titles must have a font size of 12 except for Figure 1 Schema of the Study which
must have a font size of 14; and
Headings and side headings must be in bold face while the rest of the parts should be in normal face.

Chapter 1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE
Introduction
- start with a macro idea of the topic then to micro statements and the rationale of the study. It must be
preferably 3-4 pages.
Theoretical/Conceptual Framework
- The theory or concept where the study will be anchored must be discussed properly and its authority/ies
must be properly cited;
- The discussion of the framework must follow the flow of variables in the schema of the study;
- The last paragraph of the framework must discuss the schema of the study; and
- The schema of the study must be presented on a separate page after the discussion of the framework.
Statement of the Problem
- The first part should contain the general statement of the problem answering the wh-question regarding
the study; and
- The second part must present the specific statement of the problem.
Hypothesis
- This presents the hypothesis/es based on the hypothetical questions.
Significance of the Study
- It should present the beneficiaries and their benefits taken from the study.
- The presentation of beneficiaries must be based on the degree of benefits derived.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
- It should present the coverage, scope, and delimitation of the study; and
- The variables of the study must also be presented here.
Definition of Terms
- The terms must be defined operationally or how they are used in the study;
- The terms defined must be arranged alphabetically; and
- Define the terms preferably found in the title and schema of the study.
Chapter 2 REVIEW OF LITERATURE AND
STUDIES
Literature
- It should present at least 5 foreign and local literature.
Studies
- It should present at least 5 foreign and local studies.

- The last paragraph of the Chapter should present the similarities and differences of reviewed literature
and studies.
Chapter 3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Method Used
- It should discuss the method of research to be used and the processes to be undertaken.
Research Environment
- This part should discuss the condition where the study is to be undertaken. This condition is significant to
the pursuance of the study.
Respondents of the Study/Subjects of the Study (for experimental research)
- It should discuss the respondents or subjects (for experimental research) of the study including their
population and the sampling procedure; and
- This should also present the distribution of the respondents/subjects in tabular form. (This will be Table 1
Respondents of the Study).
Research Instrument
- This part should discuss the instrument or questionnaire to be used in the study including its parts and
references. If it is being modified, it must also be indicated in the discussion.
Validation of the Instrument
- If the instrument is not standardized, it must be discussed here how it is being made and validated.
Scoring Procedure
- This part should discuss the procedure of rating or scoring the responses of the respondents/subjects on
the different parts of the instrument.
- This part should also include the ranges, descriptions and interpretations of scores.
Data Gathering Procedure
- This part should discuss the procedures undertaken in gathering data needed in the study.
Statistical Treatment of the Data
- It should present the statistical tools and how they are used in the study.
Chapter 4 PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
- All tables except on test of significance must be presented first followed by the discussions, analysis and
interpretation.
Chapter 5 SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION
Summary
- This part should present the summary of the study which includes the statement of the problem, research
method used, the respondents and statistical tools used.
Findings
- The presentation of the findings must be consistent with the arrangement of the statement of the problem.
Conclusions
- It must be presented in paragraph form.
Recommendations
- Recommendations must be doable.
BIBLIOGRAPHY (references must be in arranged alphabetically)
