Midterms: Study Tips

by Beatrice Villanueva, Derya Tansel, and Alexis Mizeur

With Midterms coming in, wed like to take a

moment and share some of our treasured
study tips and how to get that A!

Go to Class and Office Hours

First and foremost, GO TO CLASS! We all
know and feel the struggle of the cold Fall
weather, the Netflix season releases, and the
bombardment of all the assignments,
projects, and exams that seem to just happen
all at one time. But, if we were to pick one
piece of advice, it would be to power
through. No matter how much you dont
want to, go to class and be present! Take
notes, ask questions, and definitely take the
time to go to office hours and get to know
your professors and TAs. The time you take
to learn in class and the time you take to get
to know your educators truly makes a
difference!

GroupMes!
In addition to your professors, your fellow
classmates are also an invaluable resource.
Never underestimate the power of friendship
and networking. If you have a difficult class,
start a GroupMe! Use this GroupMe to
schedule times when you or a friend are in
the library and itll give other classmates a
chance to easily meet up with you to get
some studying done! This also helps with any

accidental absences and catching up with

any missed info.

Beas Secret
Whats Beas secret to studying for
midterms? Food. Whenever youre studying,
always have a healthy and a not-so-healthy
snack on deck. You cant study if youre too
busy thinking about those Wendys fries
being dipped into a chocolate Frosty, let
alone that $5 taco box (QUESARITOS) at
Taco Bell. Pack a healthy fruit and sandwich
and some Oreos to help you get by. Itll also
save money when you do get those midnight
study cravings that youll eventually give in
to.

Amazing Race: SWE

Thanks to all of our SWEeties that came out to our
first Amazing Race: SWE Edition event! We had a
blast searching around campus and meeting new
people! Congrats to Hong-Nhi Les group for winning
1st place!

Deryas Secret
Lastly, but certainly not the least, whats
Deryas secret to studying for midterms?
Study. A week (yes, a week) before every
exam, have three pieces of paper ready to fill
with the most important notes and tips. Even
if your exam doesnt allow a review sheet,
make one anyways! Read through all of your
notes, assignments, and announcements and
make sure youve written everything of
importance. Once youre done, study this
until the exam!
Good luck on midterms, SWEeties!
