Eastern Michigan Writing Project

It is a Mitchell goal that EVERY
Mitchell family will participate in this
writing workshop at some time during
their Mitchell School years. It is most
helpful for parents of kindergarten and
first grade families. Please come if you
can to learn about ways to help your
child as a writer.
Kids are welcome.

This week in
Math: number scrolls/writing
numbers on the 100s grid, addition
stories and games
Literacy We are exploring poetry.
We are going beyond just rhyming
poems and exposing students to
poetry that evokes feelings. We are
writing poems about color.

Important Events
Friday, February 10, 6:30 8 pm International Night See attached note.
Kindergarteners who attend will informally gather on the stage to sing a song.
Monday, February 13 - N.A.A.P.I.D. All parents are welcome to spend time with
us for all or part of the day. We will have an all-school assembly at 2:30.
Friday, February 17, 10:30 12:00 Fieldtrip to UMMA(University of Michigan
Museum of Art)
