Equipment: 6 volley balls, a speaker, 4 nets
Focus of Lesson: bumping and setting/Serving and game play

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(P) Demonstrate a bump, set and a set successfully times during activity #1 and 2
when asked to bump continuously.(National # S1.H3.L1;MA CF # 2.17; Activity #1and 2)
(C) Explain the importance of communication with teammates in a game when asked
during the closer. .(National #S2.H2.L1.; MACF 2.19; Closure)
(A) Be respectful of the equipment by staying clear of the nets at all times during the
lesson.(National # S4.H5.L1;MA CF # 2.26; Task/Activity: during the whole class.
Check each objective is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally
appropriate?
Teacher Performance Objectives During the lesson the teacher will:

Check for understanding by asking at least 3 specific question about the


activity at the end of every informing period.
Move extra equipment to the side to prevent student stepping on it and
getting injured.
Keep my back to the wall throughout the whole lesson.

Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
The class is going to have a large number of students. Students should
alway be aware of their surrounding and personal space to avoid collisions.
Students should be aware of the low hanging nets
Students should be aware of extra balls rolling around on the floor.

TIME SEQUENCE OF LESSON ORGANIZATION
Waiting time: student will be given 6 minutes
0-6mins to change

Introduction: Today we are looking forward


6-7mins to have a wonderful class. My name is Mr K
incase you forgot.
Couple of things If you have your phone put it
to the side. When playing keep your head up
so you don't run into each other.
When whistle blows please T= teacher
drop everything and listen to me

7-10mins Warm Up: Captain will be responsible for


leading their teams through the warm warm
up

Informing
What are the Key points of
bumping
10-12mins (hand position, feet position, following
through, Ball at waist level)
What are key points or setting
(elbows out, knees slightly bent, follow
through, ball is over the head
Setting what are the two ways
to serve a ball
Keep your head up at all times

If its a 50-50 ball communicate
to avoid bumping into each other.
Stay clear of the net.
Activity 1:
Purpose:Before we get started with our
tournament we are going to a mini game to
help use practice our overall volley ball skills.
And also help you communicate with team
mates.
First each team will get a ball and play keep
up. Try to keep ball up as long as possible
with bump or set.
Extension up
Game: In your teams you will play another
team like you would play a normal game. The
only difference is that Every team member
22-40 must touch the ball before it clears the net.
You have to decide when to use bump of set
when play. You also have to communicate
with your teammates to let them know who
has the ball and when to hit it over.

Activity 2: Game play


Student will stay in their assigned teams and
head to their assigned court to play the
assigned games. Mr Pryce will be running
the time. When he blows the whistle student
will rotate to next game
Rules:
Say score before
serving
The volleyball can't hit
anything on the serve but can hit the
net during point play.
If it hits the line it is in
Game play ends on
whistle
No kicking the
volleyball
Can only hit the ball
three times until it has to go over
Must hit the ball at
least twice before it can advance to go
over the net
Must serve from behind
the back line/ serving line
No spiking
Cannot touch the net at
40-43 all
Must rotate in the Z
rotation everyone will get a chance to
play all the position.
Rotation happens
every time serving team loses serving
privileges.

Transition: Whistle will sound and captains


will be asked to return Volley balls and
students will head to meeting spot.

Closure:
We will review what we have learned today.
