13.1 STREET LIGHTING
13.1.1 Feeder Pillar
13.1.1.1 LV supply distribution feeder pillars (IP 54) nr 2

fabricated from electro-galvanised steel sheet with
minimum thickness of 2mm c/w padlock, switch
socket outlet with built-in ELCB, corrosive resistant
fluorescent light fitting, earthing equipment to Furse
(<1ohm) and concrete footing as per drawing. Heat
shrinkable sleeves and cable lugs must be used for
all cable terminations. Rate must also include
labelling, identification and connection of power
supply.
13.1.1.2 Street lighting feeder pillars (IP 54) fabricated from

electro-galvanised steel sheet with minimum
thickness of 2mm c/w padlock, switch socket outlet
with built-in ELCB, corrosive resistant fluorescent
light fitting, earthing equipment to Furse (<1ohm),
surge protection device and concrete footing as per
drawing. Heat shrinkable sleeves and cable lugs
must be used for all cable terminations. Rate must
also include labelling, identification and connection
of power supply.

13.1.2 Cables
Rates shall include for the supply and pulling of

cables including trenching, sand bedding, jointing
of cables, backfilling, compaction, PVC slab,
orange nylon warning tape, disposal of surplus
material and making good of site surface as per
specifications.

secured by galvanised iron tape every 2m.
Lighting Columns
13.1.2.12 Rates shall include for all operations necessary for

Lighting Column Foundation

13.1.2.13 Supply and install concrete foundation for lighting nr 381
columns whose rate must include submission of
design calculations, pipe sleeves, reinforcements,
high tensile grout, etc.

13.1.2.14 Supply and install concrete foundation for feeder nr 12

pillar whose rate must include submission of
design calculations, pipe sleeves, reinforcements,
high tensile grout, etc.

13.1.2.15 Supply and install and connect the following IP66

LED luminaire c/w LEDs, main ballast, surge
protection device, AC drivers and all mounting
accessories and earthing as per specifications and
drawings:

downward light output
ratio and computer generated print-outs
showing all the calculation results of the light
distribution on the road surface using the
luminaire offered shall be enclosed. Failure to
submit the above may render the tender

f) Lamp holder with anti-vibration fixation device.
g) Complete mounting accessories.
h) GI conduits from the junction box to the
luminaire.

90-270, 15-65 degrees, downward light output
ratio and computer generated print-outs
showing all the calculation results of the light

13.1.2.20 Labelling of all columns including feeder pillars with nr 393

reflective stickers to 3M or approved equivalent in
accordance to the initial and numberings as per
drawing.
13.1.2.21 LS
Submission of shop drawings, samples,
catalogues, etc. for approval.
13.1.2.22 Factory acceptance test of luminaires at the place LS

of manufacture/assembly including passage,
lodging, etc for 4 persons.
13.1.2.23 Factory acceptance test of columns at the place of LS

manufacture including passage, lodging, etc for 4
persons.
13.1.2.24 Allow sum for sending the light fitting for an LS

independent laboratory test other than SIRIM to
test the following features:-
a) Photometrics
b) IP rating
13.1.2.25 LS
5 sets of as-built drawings in plastic pockets in
hard cover files and CD ROM.
13.1.2.26 5 sets of operation and maintenance manuals in LS

plastic pockets in hard cover files.
13.1.2.27 Scheduled monthly maintenance of the whole LS

street lighting installation for 24 months. Tenderer
to submit details of maintenance method
statement.

13.1.2.28 Testing and commissioning of the whole street LS

lighting installation which among other things
must include:-
a) Light distribution test using lux meter as well
as photometer.
b) Megger test of all cables including

pole-to-pole megger test.
c) Verticality check on the columns using
theodolites.
d) Earth resistance test on all earth chambers.
13.1.2.29 Allow a Provisional Sum of RM 1,500,000.00 LS

to be paid to TNB as Contribution Charges
for the laying of power supply cables, metering
meter deposit and any other fees deemed
necessary by TNB.
13.1.2.30 Spare parts:
