Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

The artifact that I chose to demonstrate my competency in standard 2B is an example of


student work from a simulation that we did in class. This meets that standard criteria
because it shows the content being used in a meaningful way to the student. The
students had to create their own laws regarding year-round schooling, and they had to
try and get those laws passed by their fellow congressmen (classmates).

Reflection on the artifact:

I believe that this artifact does a great job at demonstrating the meaningfulness of this
assignment and content. I chose to have them create laws regarding year-round
schooling because it would directly apply to them, making them more interested in the
topic. While creating laws about the topic they were also showing, and learning, about
the process of how a bill becomes a law.
