Please address the following in your written summary of the observation:

1. Describe the site where the observation took place. (ex: public school, elementary, middle,
high school, community-based program). Provide some details about the school. Also, what
type of special education class did you observe? (5 points)

2. Describe the students. Include information re: the total number, ages, gender, ethnicity,
languages used (ELD), and disability categories. Please do not report names of students.
How many adults were in the room and what were their roles? (10 points)

3. Describe what you observed. Include information about the content that was covered, how
the teacher modified the content to meet the students needs, and how the adults interacted
with the students. (15 points)

4. Ask the teacher if the students are mainstreamed in any general education classrooms. If
they are, for how long, how often and in what type of classes. If they are not-why not? (5
points)

5. Did you observe any access to technology? If so, describe it. If not, are there opportunities
for the students to use some form of technology at other times? (5 points)

6. Discuss how this experience builds upon or connects to the content of EDP 350. Be
specific with your connections. (5 points)
