At the office

A : OK. Good Morning everyone. Thank you for coming. We are today to discuss the
companys new regulation to reduce the cost.

B : For a start, we can state our positions. After that, we listen to the presentation. Then at the
end, we discuss our new regulation.

C : OK. No problem with that.

A : Lets run through the agenda. Basically, we had a problem with our company in the
financial sector. As you know, our profit is dropped rapidly in two years behind.

B : So thats we believe it is the best time to discuss this problem and we should move on to
the presentation. Just interupt if you wan to ask or add anything.

After a while...

A : As we can see in our presentation, the company is in a bad condition now. We have to
make a new regulation to reduce companys cost by lay off some workers.

B : For your information, for this time we have a thousand staffs and it will be reduce then.
On the other hand, our company has debted about Rp5 billion . Thats why we need
doing a streamlining as a way out.

C : As we understad it, you would like to lay off workers in big numbers. Can you tell me
how many workers which is you needed for this condition?

B : Around 700. According to my calculation, if we apply this regulation, the companys


financial will be stable in just 2 years later.

D : I just disagree on that regulation. I think this regualtion dont help much for us. If you still
want to run this regulation, we will make an strike.

C : Besides that, according the old regulation that in every 3 years, we will get the salary
increasing and it is should be happened this year.

A : Im afraid I cant accept that. Our purpose now is to get our financial stable back by
laying off some workers. If we dont make a movement, Im afraid that this company
will be bankkrupted.

D : Im sorry that we have to coma to this. What will we get except a lay off? As I see it, it is
unfair for the laid off workers because we had worked about 4 years ago.

A : OK, let me think about that.

C : What she said is true about our loyality. If you cant offer a solution, well have to do a
massive strike to this company.
B : How about we offer you that we will give you the last tip for laid off workers as much as
salary? And for addition, we will aim you for available company which is needed new
employees.

C : Hmmm... Thats fine as long as you can guarantee that you will prove it.

A : It can be arranged then. Well, do we have a deal?

C : Deal.

D : Deal.

A : Okay then, lets put this together in a written proposal.
