Key Angles:
Vocabulary/ Acute - angles that are less than 90 degrees.
Concepts Obtuse- angles that are more than 90 degrees.
Right- angles that are equal to 90 degrees.
Straight- angles that make a straight line or that are equal to
180 degrees.
Triangles:
Equilateral- all three sides of the triangle are
congruent/equal/same. All three angles must be acute.
Isosceles- two of the sides of the triangle are
congruent/equal/same. One obtuse angle and two acute
angles.
Isosceles- a triangle where all three sides are different. One of
the angles is a right angle and 2 are acute angles.
Introduction Introduce to the students that we will be reviewing the types of angles
(Hook) and triangles, then ask what they know about the topic. On the
promethean board create a chart of responses regarding the three
types of triangles and angles, similar to the following:
Triangles Angles
1. Equilateral- all 3 1. Acute- less than 90 degrees. All 3
sides are angles for a equilateral triangle
equal/congruent/sa must be less than 90 degrees.
me. 2. Obtuse- larger than 90 degrees.
2. Isosceles- 2 sides For Isosceles angles, 2 angles are

Instructional 1. Break students into three groups and assign them each a
Activities/Str station to start at and what activity to complete at each station.
ategies 2. At station 1 the students will complete the triangles review
worksheet, focusing on how to solve for the third angle of the
triangle. When explaining this station to the class, remind them
that when you add up the three angles of a triangle, its total is
180 degrees.
3. Station 2 will be an interactive station where the students will
play a game of bingo. Pass out the bingo card and have them
bring a marker or pencil to the station to cross out there spaces.
The teacher should be located at this station to read/describe
angles and triangles for students to find the corresponding
space on their card.
4. At station 3 the students will create their own study guide to
sum up the key facts about triangles and angles. Instruct them
to take one of the pieces of white printer paper provided and a
marker. Have them draw the three types of triangles and list
what types of angles they have. If they finish before time is up,
they can create their triangle into a picture to help remember
the types of triangles, ex. Pizza, ice cream cone, cheese,
Doritos etc.
5. Each station should take about 10-12 minutes to complete.
When the rotation is over, students will return to their seats.
Accommodat Place students in groups with a few students that have a good grasp
ions, on the subject and with others that arent as strong.
If necessary
Closure Wrap up the stations and if time allots, go back over the flowchart of
Activity information on the board to reinforce the topic one final time.
